Who Will Win The Super League Grand Final?

The Leeds Rhinos will take on League Leaders shield winners Castleford Tigers in this year’s Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford on October 7. For the most part of the season, Daryl Powell’s side have been a class above their rivals and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see the Tigers claim a first Grand Final victory later this month.

Castleford finished the regular season in top spot, ten points ahead of second-placed Leeds – a statistic that shows just how dominant the Tigers were. By the end of the Super 8s, they were still ten points clear of their closest competitors and both clubs are worthy of their spot in the Old Trafford showpiece.

Leeds have the pedigree and Grand Final experience, and that could prove decisive on the big stage. Cas have stumbled at times in recent months and the pressure of performing at Old Trafford could get to them. Brian McDermott is one of the most successful coaches in Super League’s long-standing history and he will be quietly confident of leading the Rhinos to another Grand Final triumph.

Meanwhile, the Tigers needed golden point to get past St Helens in their semi-final; a very hard-fought contest in West Yorkshire. The likes of Luke Gale and Zak Hardaker, both on the three-man shortlist for the 2017 Man of Steel award, will be influential this weekend.

This one is a very difficult contest to call but you’d have to go with Castleford in a one-off contest. Over the course of the season, they have been the best and most consistent team in Super League and the Tigers have the individual quality to prevail on the big stage. It may be a tight-knit affair but Castleford can win a first Grand Final.

Castleford are currently favourites at $1.50 to emerge victorious according to William Hill and you can check out the latest offers for the bookmaker right here at BettingTop10.
