NRL 2021 Round 25
NRL 2021 – Round 25

NRL Round 25 showcases all the top sides as they seek to finalise their spot in the NRL Finals for 2021.(All odds below from the best betting apps and game venues & times are current at the time of writing and subject to change without notice).

Canberra Raiders vs Sydney Roosters

September 2–BB Print Stadium – Mackay–7.50pm

The Raiders & Roosters both have a lot to play for in the first game of Round 25. The Raiders are still a chance of sneaking into the Top 8, while the Roosters could conceivably nail down a Top 4 spot if results go their way.
Raiders coach Ricky Stuart is king of the ‘ambush’, in getting his charges up for a big result against a club higher than them on the table. The Roosters will be aware of it, but may not be able to deny Canberra. If the result goes the way of the Raiders, the two teams could possibly meet in week 1 of the finals.

Bet on the Raiders to Win – $2.42

Cronulla Sharks vs Melbourne Storm

September 3– Cbus Super Stadium –Robina – Gold Coast – 6.00pm

The top bookmakers will be watching closely to see how many of the Storm’s starting 13 will be rested from this final regular season clash of 2021 before setting the odds. As it currently stands, Melbourne are at their usual very short odds to defy the Sharks in their push for a Top 8 spot.
The Sharks will be desperate to win, but if the Origin period taught us anything, it doesn’t really matter which team of players coach Craig Bellamy puts on the park for the Storm. Melbourne are currently the most professionally prepared team in the NRL and bet against them at your peril.

Bet on the Storm to Win – $1.37

Parramatta Eels vs Penrith Panthers

September 3 – Cbus Super Stadium – Robina – Gold Coast -7.55pm

The Eels have been woeful the last few weeks until they caught the Storm on a rare off night. Given boom winger Maika Sivo has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, it doesn’t bode well for Parramatta. Similar to the previous match, the Panthers may rest a few of the stars before this clash but it may not matter, the Panthers are on a high while the Eels look to have given up.
The Parramatta Eels will be desperate but we are predicting the Panthers will have their match. The best hope for Parramatta betting fans may well be to take advantage of the Sportsbetting.com.au odds of +8.5 points @ $1.91for the Eels to finish inside a very generously-set points betting line.

Bet on the Panthers to Win – $1.32

Brisbane Broncos vs Newcastle Knights

September 4 – Suncorp Stadium – Brisbane – 3.00pm

The Broncos look to be a spoiler for the Newcastle Knights ahead of the finals. Whilst still a long way from being in the upper echelon of NRL teams, Brisbane have more than doubled their win tally for 2020 and are a team on the improve.
However, the Knights are warming up for the finals nicely and playing some great Rugby League. With Bradman Best, Kalyn Ponga, Tyson Frizzell and friends set to make an upset in week 1 of the finals, they’ll be looking to fine-tune their respective games with a victory over the Broncos.

Bet on the Knights to Win – $1.55

North Queensland Cowboys vs Manly Sea Eagles

September 4 – Queensland Country Bank Stadium – Townsville– 5.30pm

Despite being at home in Townsville, things could get very ugly very quickly for the Cowboys against Manly. The Sea Eagles are still a chance to finish Top 4 and as such, North Queensland could conceivably get blown away.
With 3 hookers alone playing out of position in their backline in recent weeks, the Cowboys problems seem to deep and more problematic than just this week against Manly. Their recruitment looks ‘off’ and this week at least, the Sea Eagles will be the beneficiaries.

Bet on Manly to Win – $1.03

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs St George-Illawarra Dragons

September 4– Sunshine Coast Stadium – Kawana – Sunshine Coast – 7.35pm

Betting on the NRL doesn’t get much simpler than taking your hard-earned cash and putting it on the Bunnies to flex their points-scoring muscles before the finals and take the chocolates in a big win over the Dragons.

The odds on an upset Dragons win of $4.00 with PlayUp are really only for very one-eyed St George-Illawarra fans. Coach Anthony ‘Hook’ Griffin is probably already looking forward to 2022, so don’t blame the players if they are too. South Sydney should win comfortably.

Bet on the Rabbitohs to Win – $1.18

Gold Coast Titans vs New Zealand Warriors

September 5 – Cbus Super Stadium – Robina – Gold Coast –2.00pm

The Titans should close out their year with a win over the Warriors. Despite missing AJ Brimson with a fractured jaw, there should just be too much zip and verve in the Gold Coast attack for the Warriors.
For their part, New Zealand will possibly seek to take on the Titans through their perceived underbelly in the forwards which may be a mistake. If the Warriors are to spring an upset on the Titans, look for young Reece Walsh to make plenty of metres around the edge of the ruck.

Bet on the Gold Coast Titans to Win – $1.46

Wests Tigers vs Canterbury Bulldogs

September 5– Moreton Daily Stadium – Redcliffe – 4.05pm

There is a little of a ‘ho-hum, so what’ factor about the last regular season game of the NRL in 2021. Neither Wests Tigers nor the Bulldogs can make the finals and for their part, Canterbury are a ‘lock’ to take out in Wooden Spoon in 2021.
So, can you win a buck or two on the game? The Bulldogs are at upset odds of $3.50 with PlayUp, but more likely is that Wests Tigers express themselves in putting plenty of points on the board against a weary and mentally tired Bulldogs outfit.

Bet on Wests Tigers to Win – $1.31
