NRL 2021 Round 24
NRL 2021 – Round 24

Excellent punting chances abound as NRL Round 24 sees all the top sides look to finalise their spot in the NRL Finals for 2021.(All odds below from the best betting apps and game venues & times are current at the time of writing and subject to change without notice).

Newcastle Knights vs Gold Coast Titans

August 26–Sunshine Coast Stadium – Kawana – Sunshine Coast–7.50 pm

The Knights & Titans do battle in a potential 4-point game. To the winner may finally go the spoils of nailing down the spoils of a Top 8 place. The Knights have been looking in slightly better form of late as they have welcomed their big stars and playmakers back from injury.
On the other hand, the Titans have had a string of really tough games against Top 4 sides. A lot will depend how the Titans have come out of that. We fancy the Titans may be playing tired and Newcastle’s speed men will take advantage around the edges of the ruck.

Bet on the Knights to Win – $1.80

New Zealand Warriors vs Canberra Raiders

August 27 – BB Print Stadium –Mackay– 6.00 pm

The top bookmakers are seeing this match-up against the Warriors as the Raiders final hope of playing finals footy in 2021. Ricky Stuart’s men will need to play as if their lives depend on it if they are to emerge victorious.
Whilst not always winning, the Warriors have been competitive against all comers in recent weeks. Canberra have been hot-and-cold all season long. It feels like a match that could go either, but with the Raiders still standing a chance of making the finals they should be highly motivated.

Bet on the Raiders to Win – $1.46

Sydney Roosters vs South Sydney Rabbitohs

August 27 – Suncorp Stadium – Brisbane – 7.55 pm

Souths have another big test against another top side as they face the Roosters in this traditional clash between two inner Sydney clubs. The Roosters have no right to still be in the mix for a Top 8 spot, and we fancy that this week the Rabbitohs may finally put a line through the Roosters Top 8 aspirations.
Look for Cameron Murray, Adam Reynolds and Cody Walker to have big games against the Roosters and play through their strengths of the Rabbits left-hand side attack. The Roosters will be brave but we tip Souths to be too good. Roosters’ betting fans, however, will want to take a piece of the Sportsbetting.com.au odds of +12.5 points @ $1.91to finish inside the generous points betting line.

Bet on the Rabbitohs to Win – $1.22

St George-Illawarra Dragons vs North Queensland Cowboys

August 28 – Browne Park – Rockhampton– 3.00 pm

It’s odd to call a match in Rockhampton a Dragons home game. Sure, it’s a weird time, but the scheduling difficulties has played into the Cowboys hands nicely here. The Dragons have been a rabble since ‘BBQ-Gate’, and the Cowboys will be wanting to secure starting places and contracts for 2022.
The Dragons’ mathematical chance to sneak into the Top 8 has evaporated, and we’re expecting to Cowboys to exploit St George’s psychological letdown. The possibility of playing in front of rabid fans in Rockhampton will also be a positive factor for North Queensland.

Bet on the Cowboys to Win – $2.26

Cronulla Sharks vs Brisbane Broncos

August 28– Suncorp Stadium – Brisbane– 5.30 pm

Unlike the Dragons, the Sharks’ season and opportunity to play finals is still well and truly alive., and that might be all Cronulla need to overcome Brisbane at home at Suncorp Stadium.
The Broncos’ Payne Haas and his group of merry men are playing like a team with absolutely nothing to lose in recent weeks and could be about to inflict another upset on a team above them on the ladder. However, with the Sharks still a chance of making the Top 8, their motivation will be high.

Bet on the Sharks to Win – $1.43

Melbourne Storm vs Parramatta Eels

August 28– Suncorp Stadium – Brisbane – 7.35 pm

Betting on the NRL doesn’t get much easier than having a punt on this incredible Melbourne Storm team to put on a cricket score against an Eels team that has severely disappointed in the last few weeks, Does the logic then follow that Parramatta will play with freedom like a team with absolutely nothing to lose?

The Eels are at attractive odds of $7.00 with PlayUp to pull it off but that is perhaps only an option for the most one-eyed Parra fans. More likely, if you can secure good odds on the Melbourne Storm to secure 35+ points, we believe you should take them.

Bet on the Melbourne Storm to Win – $1.10

Manly Sea Eagles vs Canterbury Bulldogs

August 29–Moreton Daily Stadium –Redcliffe– 1.50 pm

Despite potential missing Tom Trbojevic to injury, Manly should still be way too good for the Bulldogs. While of course ‘Turbo Tom’ will be missed, one of the additional positives of the season he has had has inspiring his team mates like DCE, Josh Schuster and Reuben Garrick to perform with confidence week-in/week-out.
The Bulldogs should be cannon fodder for the Sea Eagles as Manly will seek to put on a big performance to give their for-and-against points scoring a boost should their potential place in the Top 4 come down to those razor-thin margins.

Bet on the Manly Sea Eagles to Win – $1.06

Penrith Panthers vs Wests Tigers

August 29– Moreton Daily Stadium – Redcliffe – 4.05 pm

To close out NRL Round 23, the Panthers should put an end to Wests Tigers season. The Panthers are beginning to rediscover their mojo now that Nathan Cleary is back and they should prove far too strong for Michael Maguire’s Wests Tigers.
Wests Tigers may keep the scoreboard ticking over in a final flurry of activity for the season, but the Panthers should score a whole lot more as they look to maintain a Top 2 spot.

Bet on the Panthers to Win – $1.10
