Day 3 of the 2024 UEFA European Championship features three great matches. England, the Euro 2024 favourites according to the soccer betting sites, will play their first match of the tournament against major underdogs Serbia.

Netherlands, meanwhile, seem to always put up strong tournament performances no matter who puts on their Oranje kit. We think this form will hold true on Sunday.  

The Netherlands under Ronald Koeman are one of the most tactically flexible teams in world soccer right now. Against teams with less talent than them, the Oranje sit back and play devastating, counter-attacking football with goals often coming from out wide.  

We’d be stunned if the Netherlands don’t score at least two goals. Poland are odds on to score at least one themselves, so OVER 2.5 goals is a solid bet here.

Having played in the same Euros Qualifying group, Slovenia and Denmark are familiar foes. The Danes came out on top of their two matches in qualifying, winning one and drawing another.  

The Slovenians averaged less than 40% possession in both of their matches against Denmark in Euro 2024 qualifying. Slovenia had just three shots on target combined in those two matches.  

Qualifying is obviously much different than the Euro tournament proper, but we don’t see Slovenia coming out on top here.

Serbia narrowly eked out rivals Montenegro to qualify for Euro 2024. England, meanwhile, stomped through qualification easily.  
 
The Three Lions are big favourites to win the Euros. You wouldn’t have been able to guess it from recent performances though.  
 
England’s 1-0 loss to Iceland showed that their problems creating chances under Gareth Southgate are still very real. Their 1-0 loss to Brazil and 2-2 draw with Brazil also showed how flawed England’s defence can be. This is even more worrying now that John Stones is potentially out with an illness.  

We’re still confident that England will get a win against Serbia, but we’re willing to bet they give up a goal.
