Currently, Brazil is the top favourite to be crowned the 2018 World Cup winner and William Hill has the best odds at $5.50. They would have been disappointed after finishing 4th in the 2014 World Cup at home so the Brazilians will be keen to rebound in 2018. They also haven’t reached the final since winning the World Cup in 2002. They do have one of the best strikers in the world – Neymar – who is also one of the favourites for top goal scorer. So they should be confident of at least reaching the semi-finals and more. The most likely team to challenge them will be Germany. They have one of the best records at the Soccer World Cup and they’re currently the defending champions. They have a strong squad once again and have been given $5.50 World Cup odds as well. The two sides met recently in a friendly match and Brazil were just victorious 1-0. So hopefully these two sides meet in World Cup.

Meanwhile in third, the French side is expected to compete with the top sides in 2018. However, they will have to face a tough Group Qualification stage against Peru, Denmark and Australia. They’ve also failed to reach the semi-finals in the last two World Cups. So it’s hard to see them upsetting either Brazil or Germany. Argentina and Spain round out the top five in the World Cup predictions. The two sides met recently in a friendly and Spain thrashed them 6-1. In fact, Spain hasn’t lost an International friendly match in 2017 and 2018. So we’re liking the form of Spain and they could cause an upset in 2018. They should progress through the Group Qualification stage with comfortable wins against Morocco and Iran. Their clash with Portugal will be very intriguing in that group as well. Speaking of Portugal, they have gun striker Cristiano Ronaldo and he’ll be one of the favourites in the top goalscorer betting markets. They open the World Cup against Spain so that will be a key clash for their chances of finishing first in the group.

In this table, we’re providing the current betting odds for the top favourites to become the World Cup winner in 2018:
