Unibet App Review

Ken Edwards
By:Ken Edwards

Unibet is owned by the Kindred Group and was founded in 1997. They have a wide presence in Europe and purchased Betchoice in Australia to form its Australian operations. The bookmaker is licensed and regulated by the Northern Territory Government in Australia.

Unibet App Compatibility

The Unibet mobile app can be downloaded from the following Apple devices: iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It requires an iOS version of 8.1 or more. For Android, the app must be downloaded from their website as the Google play store doesn’t allow betting apps.

Why download unibet app?

The advantage of betting through an app rather than a desktop website is easy of use and utilising mobile-specific functionality. Such as the Unibet app is compatible with 3d touch on an iPhone. It also allows live streaming and this can be watched anywhere with a reliable internet connection. The app is well designed for betting with easy of use in mind, especially with two main menu options. This allows me to easily find what I’m looking for.

App Features

Banking – This bookmaker has the basic banking options covered in terms of deposits and withdrawals. They provide multiple deposit options to choose from via the app.
Expert Edge – This feature provides betting statistics for a range of sports and is useful for finding all the stats I need to place a winning bet.
Live Streaming – Watch Live Streaming of over 30,000 sporting events at Unibet. They include Tennis, Football, NBA and more.
Live Betting – Live bet on a range of in-play sports around the World. Live betting markets cover Soccer, Basketball, Tennis, Darts, Golf and more.
Unibet Streak – This betting feature is similar to a tipping competition. Customers pick winners from selected events and must build the longest winning streak to win prizes. For example, the longest winning streak will pay $5000 in cash.
Racing – Bet on the latest horse racing betting markets in Australia and Overseas. They also provide markets for harness racing and greyhound racing.
Summer Sports – They cover a wide range of sports betting markets for popular Summer sports. During Summer, they’ll have betting promotions for Cricket and Tennis as an example.
Winter Sports – In Winter, Unibet has betting markets for Australian Rules Football (AFL), Rugby League (NRL), Soccer, Rugby Union and more.
US Sports – Bet on American Football, Baseball, Basketball and Ice Hockey at Unibet. They also live stream NBA games.

unibet mobile app

The advantage of betting with the Unibet app is to take advantage of the betting features on a mobile device. The Unibet app comes with a variety of different features that will enhance your betting experience. The app is designed with two menus, one for betting (left) and one for account links (right). So it is easy to find a betting market, promotions and my account settings. The homepage features the latest promotions and featured products, such as Unibet Streak. The colours used are Green, White and Black as their corporate colours.
The app is available from the Apple App Store when searching for Unibet on an iPhone, iPod or iPad. On Android, the app isn’t available on the Google Play Store due to their betting regulations. But the app can be downloaded onto an Android device via the website.

How to download: Apple

  1. Visit the Apple App store and search for “Unibet”.
  2. Download the app to your phone.
  3. Login to your account or join now.

How to download: Android

  1. Visit the “Settings” of your phone.
  2. Scroll to “Security” and select allow “Unknown Sources”.
  3. Open an internet browser and navigate to their website.
  4. Follow the prompts and install onto your Android phone.

On an iPhone, I found that the app isn’t regularly updated (yearly) which is concerning with new devices on the mobile phone market. The app is optimised for iPhone 6/plus for example and it’s already obsolete compared to the Apple X. The app homepage could also offer betting markets instead of having to navigate the menu system. Placing a bet goes through the traditional bet-slip process as they don’t currently offer Quickbet.

How to bet on sports using unibet app?

Betting with a mobile app requires the installation of the app onto a mobile device.

How to bet

  1. Select an upcoming betting event
  2. Click on the odds for your bet selection
  3. Click on the Bet Slip button (near the top right corner)
  4. Enter a betting stake and select “Confirm bet”

Betting Markets

Starting with racing betting markets, they’re well designed for betting on a mobile device. I can filter by type, sort runners by price per race and find all the latest racing events around the World. They have markets for horse racing in Australia and abroad. As well as harness racing and greyhound racing. I can also bet on future racing markets, such as the Melbourne Cup. The only downside is they don’t currently provide live streaming of racing.
In terms of sports betting markets, I can easily browse through all the latest sports events. They also provide a search function, which is unique compared to other betting sites. They cover all major sports in Australia and in conjunction with live streaming, it’s easy to watch and bet at the same time with Unibet. On the downside, I found that app can be slow to load sports betting market pages.

Deposit Methods

The Unibet mobile app currently provides these deposit options:
Credit/Debit Card – I can deposit funds into my account with a Credit or Debit Card. The minimum amount is $20 and the maximum amount is $10,000.
PayPal – PayPal is available for depositing funds and I can link my account for faster deposits in the future.
POLi – A POLI deposit is accepted through the app and I can choose from a wide range of Australian banks.

Review Conclusion

In review, I found that Unibet has a huge range of betting features and promotions to keep punters engaged. The app is easy to navigate, but can be slow to load in sections (Featured Betting for example). This is something they need to work on and I’m sure the development team will address in the future. But in the end, Unibet is recommended for punters that enjoy new promotions every week and the ability to bet on unique betting markets.
