World Cup Squad Comparison

Australia

It wasn’t expected to be much of a contest against Afghanistan, and skipper Aaron Finch would be proud of the way his side played. Bowling first they picked early wickets and restricted the Afghan side to a small total and their batsmen chased down the score comfortably without any hiccups. Having got the perfect start to the tournament Finch would want his side to continue with the form in the next game. He would be aware of the fact that the West Indies have a very strong batting line-up and hope his bowlers are able to pick early wickets and apply pressure on their opponents.
Aaron Finch is looking good at the top of the order and so is his opening partner David Warner and they would look to provide good start to the side in the next game. Usman Khawaja, Steven Smith and Glenn Maxwell are looking in great form in the middle order which adds to the strength of the side. With Marcus Stoinis and Alex Carey in the lower order the side boasts of good batting strength. They bowled well in the last game with Mitchell Starc getting his form back. Pat Cummins and Nathan Coulter-Nile also did well and the skipper would like to see Marcus Stoinis and Adam Zampa improve their performance for the next game.

West Indies

They are being seen as the dark horse of the tournament and Jason Holder’s side lived up to that expectation as they demolished the Pakistanis in the first game. With the ball they restricted the Pakistani side to a total just above 100 runs and when it came to their chase the side showed the magic with the bat. In the build up to the tournament they were being seen as one of the best batting sides and they would definitely want to defeat the world champions in the next game. Holder would hope his side plays to the potential and doesn’t make unwanted mistakes that have been a feature of their performance over the last few years.
Chris Gayle came to the party in the last game and showed why he remains such as a dangerous batsman. Shai Hope has been in good form and would like to make a statement in the next game. Darren Bravo brings that classical touch to the batting. The middle order is extremely strong with power hitters such Nicholas Pooran, Shimron Hetmyer, Andre Russell, Jason Holder and Carlos Brathwaite and all of them have the ability to test the Australian attack. On the bowling front Sheldon Cottrell and Oshane Thomas are in good form. With Jason Holder’s experience and the flamboyancy of Andre Russell and Brathwaite the side would look to do well in the next game.

Our prediction for Australia vs West Indies

Australia will win the game
The upcoming game of the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup between Australia and West Indies is highly anticipated. Both the teams have started the tournament on the right note with West Indies destroying Pakistan and on the other hand Australians winning comfortably against Afghanistan. The contest in the next game would surely be between the West Indian batsmen and the Australian bowlers. The West Indian side has the best hitters in the tournament and it would be interesting to see if the Australian bowlers are able to contain them at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
It is a close choice between the two sides but the Australians have a slightly better bowling line-up and this makes them favourites in this game.
