Bookmaker.com.au Full Review
In terms of reputation, Bookmaker.com.au is owned by Ladbrokes, which is known for innovative features, betting promotions and great odds. So they can use this to their advantage when adding new features to this bookmaker.
License & Regulations
This bookmaker is licensed and regulated by the Northern Territory Government. The website is secured using Secure Sockets Layer with 2048-bit encryption to protect my data when entering credit card details for example.
The Bookmaker Card acts as a normal Debit/Credit Card. It can be used for everyday purchases at an ATM and provides instant access to my winnings. Firstly, you need to apply online to receive the card. This can be applied for in the “my account” section. Once approved, they will send the card within 10 business days. Then you need to activate the card in the “my account” section.
One of the best features of the card is the instant access to my winning funds. Instead of waiting for a lengthy withdrawal time, I can instantly withdraw funds from an ATM or use the money for purchases. The card also comes with Visa PayWave for quick purchases under $100. If you’re looking for a quick way to access your winnings, the Bookmaker card is highly recommended. The Bookmaker card can be used for PayWave purchases, EFTPOS and ATM withdrawals. In terms of limits, the card has a few rules. Firstly, the ATM withdrawal limit is $1000. The daily total limit is $5000 overall and the maximum balance is also $5000. In addition, the minimum amount for loading the card is $5. Standard ATM fees apply for the Bookmaker card and a replacement card will cost $5. Otherwise, the card is free to apply for customers of Bookmaker.com.au.

Weekly betting promotions
Bookmaker is owned by Ladbrokes PLC and many of the promotions currently available are extremely similar. They focus primarily on racing with their offers and if there is a protest withheld at the end of a race, bookmaker will pay out on both horses. They also guarantee the best tote odds throughout the day and this applies to all thoroughbred contests.
The increasingly popular pick your own odds is also available with bookmaker.com.au which allows punters to increase their returns by selected the margin of victory. For example – ‘Horse A to win with a 3 length margin’, this is handy for seemingly one-horse races.
Cash Back Promotions – For selected Australian races, they will offer cash back specials if your selection finishes second (sometimes third as well) in the race.
Favourite vs Field – In this promotion, I can choose to back the favourite over the field or bet on the field to beat the favourite. It is mainly useful when I think a short-odds favourite will get beaten.
Best Tote or SP – With Best Tote or SP, I will receive whichever gives the highest odds for a thoroughbred race.
Protest Payouts – If a race is upheld by a protest, this bookmaker will pay me out regardless of the result.
Past the Post payout – Get paid quickly with this promotion as the winning bet will hit my account within a short time after the race.

Bookmaker.com.au was first launched in 2012, and barely a year later was adopted into the Ladbrokes family. The British betting site took Bookmaker under it’s nighty wing and it’s been flying high ever since.
Bookmaker offers everything for the discerning punter. It has a healthy focus on racing, providing hundreds of markets across thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing. Plus, as an approved betting operator for Australia’s major sporting leagues, you’ll find bets for the all popular tournaments and matches. On top of all this, you can also enjoy a huge selection of international sports, such as American Football, NBA. Baseball, gaelic sports and many more.
Punters can enjoy both pre-match and in-play betting with some of the most competitive odds and markets around. If you’ve just signed up for your new account at Bookmaker.com.au, then you’re ready to place your first bet. Here’s how to do it:

First things first, head to bookmaker.com.au and login to your real-money account. If you don’t have one yet, it’s a simple 3-step process which you can complete in less than 5 minutes.
Step 2: Choose your sport
Once you’ve registered and logged in you can then choose the sport you’d like to bet on. Pick from the options along the top, or from the menus on the left-hand side. Racing is one of the most popular markets offered by Bookmaker, with a plethora of national and international options available. The process is more or less the same for each sport, so you can refer to this guide at anytime.
Step 3: Select the race
Select Greyhound Racing from the left-hand side menu and a drop down menu will appear, giving you all the options available. Just pick the one you’re interested in and it’ll appear in the main section of the page.

Now you’ve read all the runner and race comments and weighed up your odds all is left to do is to place your bet. Bookmaker Live Betting
Live betting basically means I can choose to bet live while the sport takes place. The advantage of live betting is that you’ll generally receive better odds compared to the price offered before the event started. The odds will fluctuate a lot more and this means I can find better odds. Due to Government regulations, all live bets must be placed over the phone. In terms of markets, this bookmaker offers live betting for AFL, Cricket, Basketball, Golf, NRL, Ice Hockey, Tennis and Soccer.
Bookmaker Likes and Dislikes
During our review of Bookmaker.com.au we went through the website with a fine tooth comb and found a lot of things that we really liked. From the wide range both local and international sporting events and races to the great features and promotions, it was everything that we expected from a Ladbrokes owned online sports betting site. Of course there is some room for improvement and we wouldn’t be doing our job if we didn’t point them out as well.
- They are owned by Ladbrokes, which has a reputation for innovative betting features and increased odds.
- The Bookmaker card is a great option for accessing winning funds.
- Variety of deposit options.
- They lack a few features that are available at Ladbrokes, such as Enhanced Odds and more daily promotions.
- They don’t provide live streaming via the desktop website.
- A live chat option is missing.
Bookmaker Odds & Betting Types
AFL – During the AFL season, I can bet on weekly promotions and find updated betting markets per match. They also have end of season awards covered and future Premiership markets.
Cricket – Cricket betting markets are available for Test matches, One Day Internationals and Twenty20 around the World.
Horse Racing – Horse Racing is a key strength at this bookmaker as they provide a huge range of markets, bet types and live streaming via the app.
EPL – The English Premier League is covered by this bookmaker with updated markets and future betting.
NRL – During the NRL season, I can find weekly betting promotions and a range of betting markets per match.
Tennis – During Summer, the Australian Open is a key betting event at this bookmaker. They also have future betting markets for the other Grand Slams and live betting for Tennis events around the world.
US Sports – They have betting markets and promotions for popular US Sports, including MLB, MLS, NBA, NFL, and NHL.
They also have betting markets for other Australian niche sports: A-League, ABL, NBL, Netball, Rugby Union, Volleyball, Motor Racing, Women’s sports and more.
Bookmaker.com.au Live Streams and Betting
Unfortunately there is currently no streaming service available at bookmaker.com.au although there are believed to be plans to implement this in the future. Being owned by Ladbrokes PLC, there would no issues in gaining the rights to show many of the top sporting events.
Their live betting markets are plentiful and a live streaming service would help punters follow the action and the progress of their in-play bets but alas it may be a while before this is up and running.
Bookmaker Mobile site and App
For punters who prefer the convenience of mobile betting, Bookmaker.com.au has done a great job with their Android and Apple app. The bookmaker app, which is free to download, has hundreds of local and international sports markets and thousands of racing markets at, all at the same great odds that are offered on the desktop site.
Everything you might need is available on the bookmaker app, you can place your bets and check out the action all with a few swipes of the finger. If you don’t have space on your phone or tablet, you can just go to the bookmaker.com.au mobile site, which is fully responsive, to place your bets.
|Availability:||Apple Store, Play store|
|Live Streaming on Mobile:||Yes (Racing)|
|Live Betting on Mobile:||Yes|
In our opinion, the mobile app is one of the better Betting apps on the Australian market at the moment. It provides a similar experience to the desktop website with the same style of navigation and colour scheme. The left hand menu consists of all important links and makes it easy to find what I’m looking for. The homepage has quick links to popular races, next to go races, popular sports and next to go sports. So it’s easy to find the latest betting market straight from the homepage.
An account can be opened via the mobile app in the top right corner by clicking “Join Now”. To place a bet through the app, tap the selection and then navigate to the bet-slip in the top right corner. Then enter a betting stake and click the “Bet Now” button. The promotions can be accessed from the left hand menu and they provide the same promotions as the desktop website.
How to Download the App: Apple
- Navigate to the Apple App Store
- Search for “Bookmaker”
- Download the app to your mobile device
How to Download the App: Android
- Navigate to the Android mobile website page here: https://www.bookmaker.com.au/mobile/android/
- Click “Direct download to Android Device”
- Follow the prompts to install the app
A benefit of the mobile app is live streaming of Racing in Australia. The Deposit section can be accessed from the left hand menu. To deposit funds, the app currently provides these four options: Credit Card, Bookmaker Card, PayPal and Flexepin.
Bookmaker Banking options
The banking options at this bookmaker are plentiful for depositing. They currently provide seven different options via the desktop website. On the mobile app, a few options are missing but this is fairly standard in the industry. In terms of withdrawal methods, they provide the basic expected options.
How to make a deposit: Step by step guide
- Navigate to the My Account section and choose “Deposit”
- Select your preferred deposit option
- Enter your details and a deposit amount to confirm the deposit
How to request a withdrawal: Step by step guide
- Navigate to the My Account section and choose “Withdraw”
- Select your preferred withdrawal option
- Enter your details and a withdrawal amount to confirm the withdraw
Bookmaker Customer Support
There are several different ways for punters to get in touch with a customer support representative in case they need help. The first place to turn to is the FAQ section which is located on the official site. If you can’t find the answers you need there, you can either send an E-mail or call customer support between 8am- 11pm (QLD Time).
The one feature that is sorely missing from their customer service options is a live chat option. If you have any questions about the Bookmaker bonuses, promotions or free bets make sure to read the terms and conditions for complete rules.
The Customer Support is available Monday to Sunday from 8am to 11pm (AEST).

The key strength at Bookmaker.com.au is they’re backed by Ladbrokes and can offer unique betting promotions as well as a range of innovative features. The Bookmaker card makes it easy to withdraw funds. The website is easy to navigate and the mobile app provides a similar experience. The app also provides live streaming of Racing in Australia. In addition, the support hours are long throughout the day and they do respond quickly to questions. Therefore, they’re one of the better betting sites in terms of their betting features and support.
In my opinion, they would be more recommended for racing as the features are mainly focused in this area. They also don’t have any live streaming options for sports. But they do have a huge range of sports betting markets to make up for the lack of live streaming.
So if you’re looking for a new Australian bookmaker, give them a try today.
