AFL 2021 – Grand Final Predictions – Odds, Previews & Tips

AFL 2021 Grand Final
AFL 2021 Grand Final

The Demons and Bulldogs loomed as the best teams in the AFL for a large chunk of the season, but things changed when the Dogs endured a disastrous few week in the leadup to the final to miss out on the top four. They’ve responded in kind, however, blasting their way into the Grand Final where they’ll face an intimidating and seemingly very reliable Demons team looking to break a 57-year Premiership drought. Both sides have talent across the park and enter the game in some serious form, so expect fireworks from the outside on footy’s biggest day.

Melbourne Demons vs Western Bulldogs

September 25, 7.15pm, Optus Stadium

Preliminary Final weekend may have lacked the excitement that many were hoping for, but the end result is that our two Grand Finalists enter the big dance playing as well as they have all season. For many months the Demons and the Bulldogs occupied the top two spots on the AFL ladder, but a disastrous couple of weeks to end the season for the latter resigned them to fifth place, and entering the finals series this didn’t seem a likely Grand Final matchup. Alas, here we are. The Demons have barely put a foot wrong all season and were brilliant against the Cats last weekend with their midfield particularly dominant, but if there’s one side who has them covered in that part of the ground it’s the Bulldogs. The boys from the west have as much depth and talent in the most important part of the ground as any team in the league, and the midfield matchup might make or break this Grand Final. This should be a thrilling game with some serious firepower on both teams, but the Demons impenetrable defensive structure has made them more reliable than the Dogs throughout the course of the year, and we’re banking on that fact to just get them over the line and break the longest active Premiership drought in the AFL.
