What is the Legend Behind The Ashes?

Legend has it that after the in 1882 England surprisingly lost to Australia on a difficult wicket at The Oval, London, English fans were left utterly disappointed. This win for Australia was against all odds so much so that the Sporting Times published a mock obituary that read –
