We are in the first game of the Caribbean Premier League 2025. The St Kitts and Nevis Patriots will be up against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. The Patriots had a poor tournament last year, where they finished at the bottom of the points table. The team will look to put that behind them and come up with a strong performance. Playing at home, they will start this game with higher odds. The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons didn’t have much better in their debut season last year. They finished 5th on the points table and will look for a good start this season. Both teams will be under pressure, and it will be interesting to see which team emerges as the winner.  

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Preview      

Jason Holder takes over as the skipper from Andre Fletcher for this season. 2024 was a forgettable year for the team, as they had their worst season with only one win in 10 games. Key players struggled with their consistency last year, and the side will look to improve on that. They will start ahead on cricket betting apps, and Holder would like to get his team off to a winning start.  

The team expects a good start in this game from Evin Lewis and Andre Fletcher after struggling last season. Kyle Mayers forms the team’s backbone of the middle order and will look to add runs with Alick Athanaze and Rilee Rossouw. Jason Holder, Mohammad Nawaz, and Dominic Drakes are good hitters and add strength to the batting.

The  Antigua and Barbuda Falcons didn’t have a dream start last season, where they finished ahead of the Patriots on the points table. With Brandon King’s exit, the team has yet to name a skipper for this year. They have made wholesale changes to the team and will start the game at a disadvantage on cricket betting sites. It will be a tough battle for the team, and it will be interesting to see if they can cross the finish line.  

Kevin Wichham is an exciting young player, and he will look to deliver a good start in this game with Beven Jacobs. The team has made several changes in the middle order and expects a good show from Justin Greaves, Amir Jangoo, and Shakib al Hasan. Shamar Springer, Fabian Allen, and Odean Smith are good hitters, and they must do well.  

Their bowling attack faces a big challenge as the Patriots have big hitters. Naveen-ul-Haq and Obed must get early breakthroughs to put the side in a strong position. Fabian Allen will look to use his experience and do well in the middle overs with Shamar Springer. Shakib and Rahkeem Cornwall must do well in the supporting role.

We will see clear skies over St Kitts, and it is a welcome break from the impact of the weather in Saint Lucia. The surface has been good to bat on, as we have seen big scores at this venue. Bowlers have found it difficult to defend runs on this wicket. The side batting first in this game shall aim to put up 170 runs on the board.

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons will start the game with a new-look side. They lack the firepower of their opponents with the bat and must get the best performance out of their players in this game. The St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have a strong batting lineup and enjoy a good record at this venue. There will be pressure on both teams, but the Patriots have an edge heading into this game.
