T20 contests are fascinating as unlike other formats of the game there is a small margin that separates the two sides. Unlike Test cricket or ODIs where teams emerge victorious based on their strength T20 games are all about playing better on the given day. This becomes even more dynamic in franchise cricket as new players are added to the side and some of best performance change camps. Making the Indian Premier League final prediction for 2019 even before the season has got underway isn’t the easiest of jobs to do on this planet. We shall try and look at some cues that could very well dictate the performance of the different sides this season.

Yet our analysts have been at work for you already and here are our top three contenders for Indian Premier League final 2019

# Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super KingsIt is no surprise that the reigning champions are one of the top contenders for making it to the finals this season. They have been one of the most dominant teams in the league’s history and have won it record 3 times, have made it to the finals in another four occasions and never finished below Top 4. Led by the inspirational MS Dhoni the team has some of the best players in the league’s history among its ranks including the likes of Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis, Ravindra Jadeja, Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo and Lungi Ngidi

# Mumbai Indians

We started with the prediction of the above three teams making it to the playoffs and being contenders for the finals and we take pride in the fact that we have got our prediction spot on. Delhi Capitals have emerged as the fourth team to make it to the Top 4. Here’s how the journey has been for the four sides –

# Chennai Super Kings

They started the season well willing seven of their first eight games and were the first team to qualify for the play-offs. But the side lost some of the steam in the later stage of the season where they ended up losing four out of their eight games in the second half. Their record against other playoff qualifiers stands –

  • Mumbai Indians – L, L
  • Delhi Capitals – W, W
  • Sunrisers Hyderabad – L, W

# Mumbai Indians

They didn’t have the most convincing start to the season where they won two out of their first four games but the team picked steam during the middle of the season and have won four out of their last six games where they have shown maximum improvement among all the sides that are in the playoffs. Their record against other playoff qualifiers stands –

  • Chennai Super Kings – W, W
  • Delhi Capitals – L, W
  • Sunrisers Hyderabad – W, W

# Delhi Capitals

It is the first time since the 2013 season that Delhi Capitals formerly known as the Delhi Daredevils have made it to the Top 4. The team which had been known to be inconsistent did a complete turnaround. Apart from string of losses at home during the first half of the season the side has dominated the proceedings. Their record against other playoff qualifiers stands –

  • Mumbai Indians – W, L
  • Chennai Super Kings – L , L
  • Sunrisers Hyderabad – L, W

# Sunrisers Hyderabad

Last year’s runners-up were tied up on 12 points with Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab but have managed to qualify thanks to their better run rate. They had done well in the earlier part of the season but come to the playoffs having lost five out of their last six games. Their record against other playoff qualifiers stands –

  • Mumbai Indians – L, L
  • Chennai Super Kings – W, L
  • Delhi Capitals – W, L

Who will make it to the Final of IPL 2019 Prediction?

Given the kind of form we have seen from the four sides so far in the finals we hope the Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings to make it to the finals this season. This would be the fourth title clash between the two sides after the 2010, 2013 and 2015 season. It is expected to be a tough one to choose between the two sides but Mumbai Indians owning to their better batting strength and recent form would be favorites to lift the title.
