MATCH PREVIEW

The Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy has seen intense competition in all four games. Hosts England failed to breach the Indian batting in the 2nd innings, and the game ended in a draw. The English team still leads the series 2-1 and will aim to play aggressively in the last game to secure the series 3-1. The side has a bowling attack suited for these conditions and shall start the game with higher odds. The Indians will draw a lot of positives out of their determined effort on the last day at Old Trafford. The bowling attack hasn’t been up to the mark on this tour, and it will be interesting to see if the Indians can execute their plans with the ball and grab those 20 wickets for a win.

England Preview

Ollie Pope will replace Ben Stokes as skipper, who has been ruled out due to an injury. Stokes was visibly upset with the draw in the last game. It was one of the best displays of bazball from their batting lineup as they decimated the Indian bowling attack. However, the bowling attack couldn’t grab the initiative with the ball in the 2nd innings and had to settle for a draw. They are favorites on cricket betting sites, and Pope, who has led from the front, will aim to get the best out of his players.

Zak Crawley found form in the last game, and he will aim to deliver a good start in this game along with Ben Duckett. Ollie Pope has played well in this series and must build partnerships in the middle order with in-form Joe Root and Harry Brook. Jacob Bethell has an important role at No 6, and he will look to do well in the lower middle order with Jamie Smith and Chris Woakes.

England's bowling struggled in the 2nd innings in the last game and looked tired and out of ideas. They must bounce back for the team to win. Chris Woakes and Gus Atkinson will look to trouble the Indians with the new ball, as that is when they are vulnerable. Josh Tongue must bowl with a lot of heart and do well as the first change along with Jamie Overton. Bethell and Root must do well in the supporting role.

Expected Starting XI for England

Ollie Pope (c), Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jacob Bethell, Jamie Smith (wk), Jamie Overton, Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson, Josh Tongue

India Preview

Shubman Gill will be pleased with his team’s strong fightback in the last game, where they snatched a draw from the jaws of defeat. The team has played much better than the scoresheet would suggest and may have been leading at the moment. The bowling attack and injuries have hurt their odds on cricket betting apps. Gill, who has been phenomenal on this tour, will look to lead from the front and take his team to a win.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is getting out to poor shots, and the team expects him to deliver a strong start with his in-form partner KL Rahul. Gill has made 722 runs on this tour and is at the top of his game. He will look to add runs in the middle order with Sai Sudharsan and Dhruv Jurel. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar have batted well on this tour and shall look to add quick runs.

Akash Deep’s return strengthens the team's bowling, and he will look to deliver early wickets with Arshdeep Singh, who will be making his debut. Mohammed Siraj must improve his line and length, as he has been inconsistent with his bowling on this tour. India will field three spinners for this game and expects Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar to spin a web on the English batters.

Expected Starting XI for India

Shubman Gill (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Dhruv Jurel (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj

TOSS: To Bowl First

The weather forecast isn't encouraging for the first two days, and we may see a challenging surface for the batters. The ball will move around, creating problems for the batters. Both captains would have the weather in mind and hence look to bowl first and restrict the opponents to a small total.

PITCH AND WEATHER CONDITIONS

Rain may play spoilsport in this after the sad end to the game at Manchester. There is a forecast for rain in the last three days of the game. Fast bowlers will enjoy bowling under the heavy skies. Batsmen must play to the merit of the ball to do well at this ground. The side batting first will be happy to have scored 350 runs or more in the first innings.

OUR PREDICTION

The Indians walked out of the last game with more to celebrate than the English side. While their batsmen were expected to struggle on this tour, it is the bowling attack that has let the team down. They need a strong comeback from their bowlers to win this game and level the series. England hasn’t found itself in such a spot in a home series over the last two years. They need to find answers to India’s strong batting lineup to win this game. We expect a close contest, but the English team has a slight edge.

Our prediction is for England to win
