Dindigul Dragons’ aim to capitalize on their strength

We have entered the playoffs of the 2025 Tamil Nadu Premier League. The Dindigul Dragons will take on the Trichy Grand Cholas in the Eliminator as the two teams look to stay in the hunt for the title. The Dragons finished third on the points table but went down against the Trichy Grand Cholas in their last league game. The team has a strong group of players and has the odds in its favor in this game. The Grand Cholas put up a good show in a must-win game and finished ahead of the Salem Spartans. They have struggled with consistency, and it will be interesting to see if the team can deliver the goods.  

Dindigul Dragons Preview      

Ravichandran Ashwin's team lost to the Trichy Grand Cholas in the last game by 4 wickets. The team's poor batting performance let them down. Ashwin is leading a star-studded team and shall start the game with higher odds on cricket betting sites. The Trichy Grand Cholas will be confident after their last game’s win. Ashwin would like to see an improved show from his players in this game.  

Ravichandran Ashwin has given good starts this season, and he must put up a strong show at the top with Shivam Singh. Baba Indrajith is a key batter at No. 3, and he will look to add runs in the middle order with Maan Bafna and Vimal Khumar. Hunny Saini and M Karthik Saran missed out in the last game, and the team expects quick runs from them in the lower middle order.  

The pace attack hasn’t been in the best shape this season. Sandeep Warrier and Ganeshan Periyaswamy must pick early wickets to put the Grand Cholas under pressure. Ashwin and Varun Chakravarthy make it a strong bowling attack, and they will look to excel in the middle overs. Sasidharan Ravichandran and DT Chandrasekar will look to support them in the supporting role.

Trichy Grand Cholas Preview      

Jayaraman Suresh Kumar's team put up an excellent performance in the last game. It was a must-win game for the side, and they were clinical with the bat and the ball. However, the side has struggled with consistency, winning just three of its seven games. They will start behind in cricket betting apps, and Kumar would like his team to punch above its weight and win.  

The side expects a strong start in this game from Waseem Ahmed and Jayaraman Suresh Kumar, as both of them bat aggressively. Jagatheesan Kousik is the team’s best batsman, and he will look to add runs in the middle order with Sujay Sivasankaran and U Mukilesh. Sanjay Yadav played a match-winning knock in the last game and shall look to add quick runs with R Rajkumar.

Rajkumar add variety to this attack, and the team expects a strong performance from them.

TOSS: To Bowl First      

We have seen big run chases in the tournament and expect a good batting surface in this game. Defending runs isn't easy at this venue, and both captains would prefer to opt for the safer option. We expect the side winning the toss to opt to bowl first in this game.   

PITCH AND WEATHER CONDITIONS      

The skies over Dindigul will have cloud cover, and we expect to see some assistance for the bowlers on this otherwise flat wicket. The ball will come to the bat nicely, allowing batsmen to play their strokes. The side batting first will target a score of 180 runs on this wicket to feel comfortable.    

OUR PREDICTION      

The Trichy Grand Cholas have struggled with their consistency this season. The team will look to draw positives from the last game and do well in this contest. The bowling attack must shine for the team to win. The Dindigul Dragons have a top-class bowling attack and a hard-hitting batting lineup. It will be a close game, but the Dragons have a slight edge.
