Tottenham vs Liverpool: Predictions, Odds and Betting Tips
Spurs continue their unplanned Wembley tenancy and look to get back on track against Liverpool after the international break.
Mauricio Pochettino was criticised for not bringing in any new players in the summer but three wins out of three seemed to speak for themselves before a lacklustre performance against Watford ended their 100% record. Tottenham need to find the form they showed at Old Trafford if they are to combat the attacking power of Liverpool.
Liverpool may have had a relatively easy start to the season but they are sitting at the top of the table without dropping a point after four matches. Their historically weak defence has also stepped up, allowing only one goal so far. Spurs will be a different proposition but confidence in the Liverpool side is sky high at the moment.
Harry Kane has not really kicked into gear as of yet this season. A notoriously slow starter, the Spurs captain finally scored an August goal when he netted against Newcastle – and doubled his tally in the 3-0 victory against Manchester United. Kane showed in the summer that he leads by example and his side could do with him getting on the score sheet again here.
Naby Keita has started this season as if he had been playing with his new teammates all his life. His composure on the ball – and ability to break up his opponent’s attacks with ease – has made him a central figure in Liverpool’s title chase. Spurs have a lot of attacking talent at their disposal so this should be a good test for the Guinea international. He might not be able to stop the Tottenham attack however, meaning a high scoring Spurs win might be on the cards – 3-2 to the Londoners.
Tottenham win at 2.79 Bet Now with Betway
Even though they are the visiting side, Liverpool are actually favourites for this match – possibly down to Tottenham’s noted Wembley issues. But Spurs have started the season well (Watford game aside) and look good value for the win.
Liverpool to score in both halves at 3.36. Bet Now with Betway
Liverpool have scored nine times in four league outings and in each of those matches they have managed to get the ball in the back of the net in both halves. This match promises goals so expect Liverpool to repeat that trick at Wembley.

Head to Head
Spurs well and truly lifted their Wembley curse last season when they thrashed Liverpool 4-1 in front of over 80,000 fans. The reverse fixture ended in a 2-2 draw as Kane scored a penalty with virtually the last kick of the match – just seconds after Salah had seemed to give the hosts the three points.
- Sadio Mané is the unlikely top goal scorer in the Premier League at this early stage of the season having netted in all but one of Liverpool’s matches so far. The Senegalese attacker is already looking like he will beat last season’s tally of 20 in all competitions.
- Lucas Moura made a slow start to his Tottenham career after joining from PSG in January, but he has looked in impressive form this season, scoring three in three.
- Liverpool have kept the most clean sheets so far this season, only allowing a goal in their most recent victory at Leicester.
- Both Liverpool and Spurs feature highly in the most goals scored table this season with nine apiece. Only Manchester City and Chelsea have scored more.
