Stadio San Siro Milan
Luciano Spalletti’s Inter Milan could arguably not have an easier game for their last Champions League group stage match. Of course famously, this is where it tends to go all wrong the blue and black side of Milan.
With Tottenham Hotspur winning the deciding game at Wembley last week, Inter are now in crunch time position of having to better their result, who travel to the Nou Camp to face an already qualified Barcelona.
It’s a contrasting situation for Inter, who have home comforts as PSV travel to the Giuseppe Meazza and are completely out of all European competitions.
With twelve goals conceded in five games, the third most in the entire competition, it appears to be a rather straight forward game. However, the home side have been incredibly cautious in Europe this season and we haven’t seen the swashbuckling football that often accompanies Spalletti sides.
The Italian side are unbeaten at home in Europe this season, whilst PSV have lost both of their away games.
Inter qualifying from the group is another story entirely. But for this game, they will have enough individual quality to see them through, despite the pressure. 1-0 Inter.
- Under 2.5 goals
Spalletti’s side have been surprisingly conservative in the Champions League this season with five goals scored and six conceded in five games. Of course it’s worked, but it’s also shown Inter’s wish not to expose their inexperience.
There’s been under 2.5 goals in Inter’s last three Champions League games. Betting sites expect this one to follow suit, such a crucial game will most likely be lead with caution from the Italian side, whereas PSV will want to salvage some pride.
- Inter to win to nil
The Nerazzurri possess Serie A’s second best defence as previously stated so it’s hard to see PSV scoring in this one. Equally bad news for PSV, it’s hard to see Icardi and co. drawing blanks against the bottom feeder in the group.

Head to Head
Inter and PSV have only previously met on three other occasion, coincidentally in the group stages of the 2007-08 Champions League.
Roberto Mancini’s Inter won both games against Ronaldo Koeman’s side, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic scoring both goals in the home leg, whilst Julio Cruz scored in the away match.
Of course the third meeting was the group stage back in early October, where Inter won 2-1.
- PSV average the second least amount of possession per game in the Champions League this season with 36.5%.
- Goals have been hard to come by for Spalletti’s side, with only five goals in five games.
- Nerazzurri defender Milan Skriniar averages the fourth most tackles per game with four.
- PSV defender Nick Viergever averages the second most blocks per game with two per game.
