Genoa are 12 points ahead of the drop zone and are relatively safe from relegation – they welcome run away leaders Juventus to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris for this round 28 Serie A tie.

Genoa lost 1-0 away to Parma last weekend and that defeat was their first in their last seven Serie A matches since a 2-0 loss away to Milan in January – in that period they recorded four draws and two wins against Lazio and Empoli respectively.

Juventus had a comfortable 4-1 victory over Udinese at home on the weekend thanks in part to a brace by 19-year-old striker Moise Kean. That was the Bianconeri’s 24th win of the season and they remain unbeaten in the league heading into the middle of March.

Genoa are one of just three sides that have taken points off the champions this season when the sides played out a 1-1 draw in the Allianza Stadium in October – Il Grifone have won two of their last four homes games against Juventus and are one of the few teams to cause the Old Lady problems over the last couple of years.

Juventus have a huge second leg tie in the Champions League last 16 coming up midweek against Atletico Madrid who they lost 2-0 to in the Wanda Metropolitano in the first game – to have spent so much money on bringing in Cristiano Ronaldo going out this early in the competition will be seen as a disaster and Genoa know they could be catching them at a good time. A 1-1 draw isn’t too far-fetched.

Betting Tips

Genoa and Juventus to draw

Genoa manager and ex Italian national team boss Cesare Prandelli will want his side to try and get something out of this game and with Juventus’s players possibly tired after their midweek European exploits there is a possibility of the home side nicking something out of this.

Total goals under 2.5

The last three meetings between these sides have been low on goals with just five being scored in total and that is why the bookies are offering this price for under 2.5 goals to be scored.

Genoa Draw Juventus

Head to Head

In the last 30 games in all competitions between the teams Juventus have won 19 compared to 3 won by Genoa and there have been 8 draws – all three of those wins for Genoa were at home.

  • Genoa have only lost three times at home in Serie A this season but won just five of their homes games while drawing the other six. Goal scoring has been a problem at home recently as they have scored just three times in their last five since a 3-1 win over Atalanta in December.
  • Juventus are unbeaten in their last 26 Serie A away games and haven’t lost since a 3-2 defeat to Sampdoria in the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in November 2017 – they have lost three times on their travels in cup competitions this season, however.
  • Genoa will be safe in mid-table no matter the outcome in this match and their fans can expect a thirteenth consecutive year in Serie A next season where they can dream of qualifying for a first European adventure since 2010.
  • Juventus have almost guaranteed their eight straight Scudetto victory this year, but their season will boil down to what they do in the Champions League – an early exit will be heavily criticized as they went all out in the transfer market to ensure they lifted the trophy for the first time since 1996.
