Chelsea vs Arsenal: Predictions, Odds and Betting Tips
The match ended. Chelsea won 3-2. Bet on the next matches of the Premier League.
Another tough test for the Gunners as they travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Sarri’s men.
Unai Emery must have wondered what he had done to deserve Manchester City and Chelsea as his first games in charge at Arsenal. A defeat against City was perhaps to be expected but he will be hoping that his side that can pick themselves up and start making up for last season’s disappointing league form.
Chelsea won convincingly at Huddersfield on the opening day of the season without really looking very impressive and will be confident that they can get another three points at home here. Alvaro Morata was invisible once again against the Terriers and it will be interesting to see whether Maurizio Sarri persists with the misfiring Spain international.
Emery surprised Arsenal fans in their defeat to Manchester City by playing Aaron Ramsey up front but soon changed things around to introduce Alexandre Lacazette and it would seem likely that the French striker will get another chance against Chelsea. With a new manager there is the chance for Arsenal players to stake a claim for a regular place and Lacazette has the talent to be a regular starter.
Arsenal’s defence looked vulnerable against City and Maurizio Sarri should pick a side to attack the questionable centre back pairing of Sokratis and Shkodran Mustafi. Petr Cech didn’t perform much better and he may find himself dropped for the visit to his old club. Chelsea’s attacking power will be too much for Arsenal and a 2-0 victory could be on the cards.
Chelsea may have been outplayed by Manchester City in the Community Shield match but they put three past an unfortunate Huddersfield on the opening day of the season and will be strong favourites here. Arsenal will want to get their first goals of the season but might not get the chances at Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea conceded 13 fewer goals than Arsenal last season.
