The Number 6-ranked Wallabies take on the Number 3 side in the world, Wales, in Cardiff on November 10 to kick-off their Spring Tour of Europe. Wales’ weekend win over Scotland shunted the Scots down to seventh, with the Wallabies climbing to sixth ahead of their Spring Tests. Australia had been seventh in the rankings since September’s loss to Argentina on the Gold Coast. The Welsh have been flying high, ranked third in the world since June, after a standout Six Nations campaign. Despite the current rankings gap between the two-teams, Australia has had the recent edge over Wales, winning all of their past 13 Tests dating back as far as 2009. In a recent interview, Wallabies centre Kurtley Beale says that record is irrelevant this weekend. “Show the Welsh respect,” he said. “They’re a dangerous team and on their day, they can beat anyone so I think as a group we understand that every time we play them, it’s always a tough physical game. “The ball’s always in play, you spread from wide to wide and I think that’s a brand that they’re really excited to play and I guess as a group we’re always up for it. We’re expecting Beale’s predictions to play out and believe that they Aussies just might pip the Welsh again in a tight, physical match.
