Minnesota Wild at Toronto Maple Leafs

  • Minnesota Wild
  • Tuesday October 15th, 7:00 pm ET, Scotiabank Arena
  • Toronto Maple Leafs

Tip – A night after taking on the Ottawa Senators, the Minnesota Wild make the short trip west to play the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena. The Maple Leafs have shown early in the season why they are legitimate Stanley Cup contenders with a plethora of firepower up top. They also seem to have improved on their powerplay which already was ferocious heading into the campaign. Go with the Leafs to get the job done on home ice against a tired Minnesota side on all relevant betting sites.

Carolina Hurricanes at San Jose Sharks

  • Carolina Hurricanes
  • Wednesday October 16th, 10:30 pm ET, SAP Center
  • San Jose Sharks

Tip – The Carolina Hurricanes will be in the midst of a difficult California road trip when they visit the San Jose Sharks at the SAP Center. San Jose is never an easy place to play, but when the game against the Sharks is scheduled for the second half of a back-to-back it is nearly impossible to escape with three points. To make matters worse, the Hurricanes are at home on Saturday night so will still not be completely adjusted to the time change. San Jose are one of the most dangerous teams in the Western Conference and they will prove it in this one. Take the Sharks to cruise to two points in regulation time and by multiple goals.

Detroit Red Wings at Calgary Flames

  • Detroit Red Wings
  • Thursday October 17th, 9:00 pm ET, Scotiabank Saddledome
  • Calgary Flames

Tip – The Detroit Red Wings are an improved team from last year, but the young squad still has a lot of room for growth which is why they will likely be sitting on the outside of the NHL playoff picture again this year. The Calgary Flames on the other hand, shocked the hockey world last season by topping the Pacific Division – in large part due to their 26 wins on home ice. They may not be able to match that feat again this year, but they are still an elite team who are more than capable of inflicting damage. Expect another big win for the home team at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Thursday evening.

New York Rangers at Washington Capitals

  • New York Rangers
  • Friday October 18th, 7:00 pm ET, Capital One Arena
  • Washington Capitals

Tip – The New York Rangers finished well out of the playoffs last year, after another disappointing season. Despite impressive performances from the likes of Mike Zibanejad, the team wasn’t deep enough to really compete and that will likely be the case again this year. Zibanejad has gotten off to another hot start, but his team will struggle throughout the year and will be in tough against a Washington Capitals team hungry to prove they are still Stanley Cup contenders. New York will also be entering Friday’s contest playing their second game in two nights having played the Devils in New Jersey on Thursday. Washington seems like the safe pick on Friday night on all your favourite bookmakers.

Boston Bruins at Toronto Maple Leafs

  • Boston Bruins
  • Saturday October 19th, 7:00 pm ET, Scotiabank Arena
  • Toronto Maple Leafs

Tip – Scotiabank Arena will be electric when these two rivals meet on Saturday night for the first time this season. Boston eliminated Toronto from the first round of the playoffs in consecutive seasons and the Maple Leafs will be eager to send a signal of intent in front of their home town crowd. Even though both teams have had solid goaltending to begin the campaign, we could be in for a real goal fest in Toronto. Take the over in what should be a fun hockey game for fans and neutrals alike. The winner is more difficult to call, but the home team could be good value on Saturday evening.

Florida Panthers at Nashville Predators

  • florida panthers
  • October 19th, 8 pm ET, Bridgestone Arena
  • Nashville Predators

Tip – Florida are desperate to get back to the playoffs but will have a tough time playing in the difficult Atlantic Division. One of their biggest issues last season was their performances on the road – finishing with just 16 wins away from home. They may be able to improve on that number this year, although not against a team as good as the Nashville Predators. Only one team in the entire Western Conference had more home wins than the Predators did last season as they have truly made Bridgestone Arena a fortress. This one could be over before it even starts. Take Nashville to win by multiple goals on all your favourite betting sites.
