The Eastern Conference Finals matchup that we all deserved is upon us, even if it took a few lucky bounces for the Raptors to punch their ticket. The two teams with the best records in the NBA kick off their series on Wednesday.
For all we know, Kawhi’s buzzer beater may still be bouncing around the rim of the Scotiabank Arena. Thanks to Leonard’s heroics, the Toronto Raptors have advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals for just the second time in franchise history. “The Claw” is coming off a historical series. In fact, Leonard’s 243 points in the series is the most points in a single playoff series over the past 25 years.
Waiting for Toronto on the other end of the court will be none other than the Milwaukee Bucks. Owning the NBA’s best record, the 1st seeded Bucks have washed the floor with their opponents throughout these playoffs. Milwaukee has nearly run the table, compiling an 8-1 record on their way to the Conference Finals.
I firmly believe that Toronto is a better team than Philadelphia, and they deserved to advance to this series. Yet, just because they are the better team doesn’t mean they are the better matchup. Philadelphia’s compilation of length and size may have led them to be the more formable opponent for Milwaukee. Still, the Raptors are an excellent defensive team, forfeiting the fewest ppg in the regular season, while Kawhi has proven to have ice in his veins. However, the Bucks will likely edge out Toronto in a tight series. Milwaukee outscores Toronto by nearly 14 points per game, putting the Raptors in a huge disadvantage for a team that is so reliant on a single player.
Series Prediction: Milwaukee win series 4-3

Tip – I may have Toronto projected to lose the series, but I believe Game 1 will be a different story when it comes to them covering the spread. While Toronto has struggled of late ATS, going just 2-4 over their last six games, their record vastly improves when you take into consideration their opponent and where the game takes place. Toronto is an impressive 4-1 ATS in their last five games when playing on the road vs. Milwaukee. Look for the Raptors to ride their high from last series into Wednesday’s contest.

Milwaukee on the other hand, has barely broken a sweat through the first two rounds.
