Liverpool vs Man City Premier League
Liverpool vs Man City, Premier League, Anfield

The match is over.
Score: 3-1.

Champions Man City travel to Anfield to take on the current league leaders this Sunday in what could be an early title showdown.

Our Betting Tips

Liverpool are sitting top of the Premier League with 31 points from 11 games played, six ahead of their rivals Man City. The Reds are unbeaten this season in the league, while the Citizens have already lost twice. The Reds left it late to seal the three points by beating a resilient Aston Villa side 2-1 away from home on Saturday, Man City themselves had to come from behind to defeat Southampton 2-1 at home.

LIVERPOOL TO WIN AND BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE

Both sides are in action midweek in the Champions League, with Liverpool hosting Belgian side Genk, while Man City travel to Italy to face Atalanta. Potentially both Coaches could give a chance to some of their squad players in their European matches with the weekend league in mind.

MATCH TO END WITH OVER 2.5 GOALS

Liverpool have had to come from behind in their last three league games and haven’t scored more than two goals since a 3-1 defeat of Newcastle in September, a run of six games now.  City on the other hand, have won their last three league games in a row, scoring seven times and conceding just once.

LIVERPOOL TO WIN BY A ONE GOAL MARGIN

Liverpool have won five of their 11 Premier League games this season by a 2-1 score line and would welcome a similar result in this one. City have failed to score on their last two visits to Anfield drawing 0-0 here last season in the league and losing 3-0 in the Champions League quarter-final in 2018.

GAME TO END 2-1

Our Prediction for Liverpool vs Man City

The match to end in a Liverpool win.

Liverpool have the perfect chance to cement their place at the top of the Premier League table this Sunday with a win over current champions Man City. Last season’s goalless draw at Anfield no doubt helped the Citizens to lift their second league title in a row, Liverpool will want to make sure that they pick up the three points against their rivals this campaign. Coach Jurgen Klopp is without Nathaniel Clyne, Xherdan Shaqiri, and Joel Matip for this one.

Man City will hope they can narrow the gap at the top down to three points with a win at Anfield over rampant Liverpool on Sunday, however Pep Guardiola could be without playmaker David Silva who picked up a knock in the 2-1 win over Southampton. Leroy Sane, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Rodrigo, and Aymeric Laporte are also on the treatment table.
