DraftKings Opening New Sportsbook off Atlantic City Boardwalk

DraftKings SportsBookOnly a matter of days after launching their first ever land-based sportsbook in Mississippi, DraftKings Sportsbook have announced that their new physical facility in New Jersey’s Casino Resort heartland, Atlantic City. The Sportsbook will be physically located inside Atlantic City’s Resorts Casino Hotel. Players will be able to access the sportsbook via an entrance straight off the iconic Atlantic City boardwalk.

DraftKings has long been the daily fantasy sports (DFS) market leader in New Jersey, however, it also entered into the domain of sports betting early in August 2018, becoming the first full-service mobile sports betting platform to begin operation in the fully legalized New Jersey sports betting market.

DraftKings Sportsbook opened its very first land-based sportsbook in Mississippi’s Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort in early November 2018. It came as a surprise to many sports betting experts that the DFS and sports betting giant’s first land-based outlet popped up outside the borders of New Jersey. However, the Garden State didn’t need to wait long, with the announcement of the two bricks-and-mortar sportsbooks only a week apart.

With this land-based sportsbook set up, DraftKings new physical space will provide an entertaining and immersive gaming experience to guests and sports bettors alike, thereby paving a brave new sports betting world for Atlantic City specifically and more generally, for the Garden State of New Jersey as a whole.

Construction of the DraftKings sportsbook is very nearly complete, and is all is in readiness for launch by the end of this month once the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement gives the final green light approval.

DraftKings and Resorts Casino express their enthusiasm for the project

Mark Giannantonio, the CEO and President of Resorts Casino Hotel asserted his optimism in the partnership with the DraftKings, once of the largest players industry in sports betting. He explained;

“We are proud to partner with an industry leader in sports betting, and open an innovative sports betting experience that only DraftKings Sportsbook at Resorts will offer.

“Once completed, the new on-property retail space will bring an immersive and entertaining gaming experience for our guests and sports fans alike, ensuring the best sports betting scene in Atlantic City.”

Matt Kalish, chief revenue officer and co-founder of DraftKings added;

“We’ve been working for months with the team at Resorts to make sure the DraftKings retail sportsbook meets the highest bar for quality and customer experience……We are tremendously excited to launch our first physical presence in the state with such a trusted partner, and to service their loyal patrons.”

Cutting Edge Land-Based Sportsbook Features

The DraftKings Sportsbooks will feature a retail space that “will feature a best-in-class customer experience for sports fans in the Garden State,” marking a further major milestone for Atlantic City’s first ever sportsbook casino hotel.

Following its DraftKings Sportsbook’s launch at Mississippi’s Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort earlier this month, the industry giant’s operation at Resorts Atlantic City is expected to feature multiple sports and wagering options, such as live, in-game betting with up to 5 windows and 12 kiosks.

Additionally, the luxurious space will offer ultra-high definition video walls, comfortable stadium-style seats with phone and tablet chargers, a VIP area, and a fully-stocked bar with high quality food and beverage service, and electronic slots available on the bar top.

DraftKings Kalish went on to add: “It is critical that DraftKings’ offering is the best-of-breed in both digital and physical sports book”.

In September 2018, Resorts Casino Digital generated $8.5 million in revenue (a combination of DraftKings Sportsbook and another partner — but primarily DraftKings) proving the Resorts-DraftKings partnership has been a success for both entities to date.
