The Czech Rep welcome England to Prague for their Group A Euro 2020 qualifier, with the Three Lions sitting top of the table with four wins from four games, three points ahead of their hosts.

Our Betting Tips

England have won each of their opening four games in Group A of Euro 2020 qualification and a win here will put them firmly on the road to the tournament next summer as it would put six points between them and the Czech Rep.

Gareth Southgate’s men have been in red hot goal scoring form during this qualification run, hitting the back of the net 19 times in their opening four matches. Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling both have six goals to their names in qualification already and will be looking to ad more in this one.

The Czechs have won their opening two home games in the group, but lost 2-1 away to Kosovo in September and will be facing an England side full of confidence that will looking to get the job done here in Prague.

England have kept clean sheets in three of their last six matches and gave the Czechs a good 5-0 drubbing at Wembley in their home fixture earlier in the group.

Head to Head

These sides met earlier in the Group in March at Wembley and England ran out comfortable 5-0 winners. The two sides have met three times since the breakup of Czechoslovakia with the Three Lions winning two of the three games. A 2-0 victory at home in 1998 in the first fixture and a 2-2 draw in 2008 being the previous results.

  • Czech Rep have won both their opening two home games in Euro 2020 qualifying, 2-1 against Bulgaria and a 3-0 victory over Montenegro. The Czechs have only lost once in their last eight home matches in European Championship Qualification.
  • England have won each of their last six away European Champions Qualifiers going back to a 2-2 draw at Montenegro in 2011. Their last away defeat in qualification was a 2-1 loss to Russia in 2007.
  • Czech Rep have won just eight of their last 17 home games between friendlies and qualifiers, losing five and drawing the other four.
  • England have lost just five European Qualifiers on the road out of 51 matches since the competition started.

Our Prediction for Czech Republic vs England

The match to end in a win for England.

Czech Rep have won three of the five games in qualification so far and will be out for revenge for their 5-0 beating at Wembley back in March.

England know that a winning result would put them into a commanding position for qualification for next summer’s tournament.  Fabian Delph has had to pull out of the squad through injury, while Dele Alli and Jesse Lingard were not selected for this round of games.
