NCAA March Madness Best Bets Round 64

Yale vs. LSU

Thursday 3/21 12:40 PM (ET)
Jacksonville Arena

Tip – LSU will be without their Head Coach, as Will Wade is suspended indefinitely. Yale ranks 5th in the nation in offensive efficiency. They’ve also played up to their competition, covering six of their last seven games vs. teams with a winning percentage over .600. Taking the OVER seems like a strong bet between two of the top 13 offenses in college basketball.
Marquette vs. Murray St.

Murray St.Murray St.

Tip – Marquette limps into the tournament, losing five of their past six games SU. Murray State on the other hand has been dominant, winning 11 straight games, while going 7-4 ATS during that same stretch. Golden Eagles’ star Markus Howard is dealing with a wrist injury, but don’t expect the rest of his teammates to pick up the slack. Marquette has shot an abysmal 45.6% from the floor this season. The Golden Eagles have been a disappointing bet in recent tournament games, going just 1-5 ATS/SU in their last six March contests.
Abilene Christian vs. Kentucky

Jacksonville Arena

Tip – Congratulations ACU, you’ve punched your first tournament ticket in school history. Not such great news… you’ll face off with Kentucky in the first round. This doesn’t mean all hope is lost for Abilene Christian, at least on the betting side of things. Kentucky has won seven of their last nine games, but owns a record of just 3-6 ATS during that span. Over that same period, Abilene Christian has gone 7-2 ATS, securing 8 SU victories. Kentucky’s win margin over the last nine games averages out to less than 13 points, a far cry from the 22+ points that they are favored to win by on Thursday night.
Old Dominion vs. Purdue

Thursday 3/21 9:50 PM (ET)
XL Center

Tip – 13.5 points is a hell of a lot of points, too many for my liking. Purdue is obviously the more talented team, but history sides with the underdog here. Number 14 seeds are 10-6 ATS in the last four tournaments. Old Dominion also owns one of the stingiest defensive units in the nation, holding opponents to an average of less than 61 ppg, good for 6th in college basketball. Due to those defensive efforts, nine of their last ten games have hit the UNDER.
Oregon vs. Wisconsin

Friday 3/22 4:30 PM (ET)
SAP Center

Tip – Betters have been salivating over this line since it’s initial release. Wisconsin opened as 1.5-point favorites, but the line has already begun to move towards Oregon’s favor. Rightfully so, Oregon is in the midst of an eight game winning streak, and beginning to dominate on the defensive end of the court. During their win streak, Oregon has held opponents under 61 points in every game but one, while forcing an average of 15+ turnovers a game. Get your bets in now while you can still grab the Ducks as underdogs.
Ohio St. vs. Iowa St.

Ohio St. Ohio St.

Friday 3/22 9:50 PM (ET)
BOK Center

Iowa St.  Iowa St.

Tip – Not only does Ohio State have a great chance to cover the spread, but don’t be shocked if the Buckeyes snatch a SU victory from Iowa State before it’s all said and done. The Cyclones lost five of their final six regular season games. Ohio State will have their big man, Kaleb Wesson, back from suspension to man the middle, while operating their offense through guards Keyshawn Woods and CJ Jackson. Expect this game to go down to the wire.
