The match is over.
Bayern have so far cruised through group B with three wins from three and it is hard to see Greek heavyweights Olympiakos able to do anything about Bayern’s march into the knockout stages.
Bayern have a 100% record in the group this season and have only lost at home in the competition to Real Madrid and Liverpool sin the last 11 games. Against Olympiakos last time out, Bayern’s class shone through in a 3-2 win and although we expect Bayern to win a little more comfortably, we still expect the visitors to score. Olympiakos have scored in each of their last eight Champions League games and looked set to stretch that to nine. Adding the away goal to the home win offers impressive value with online betting sites and a good way to effectively back both sides.
BAYERN TO WIN AND BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
With 13 goals in the group stage this season, no side has netted more times than Bayern Munich. In fact, the last two Champions League games involving the German heavyweights has seen a total of 14 goals scored. Perhaps then we are being a little conservative backing just over 3.75 goals, but we wanted to play it a little safe. Although even Olympiakos have netted five goals in just three games this season making it hard to argue against an entertaining and high scoring affair at the Allianz.
OVER 3.75 GOALS
The Greeks took the lead and then scored last when the pair met in Piraeus in match day three. Unfortunately, for Pedro Martins, Bayern netted three in-between, but it does go to show that the Olympiakos do not go down without a fight. Expect Bayern to win the game and get a good lead but the Greeks will keep on fighting and at least earn themselves a late consolation.
OLYMPIAKOS TO SCORE LAST
Head to Head
The reverse fixture in Greece was an entertaining affair which saw Bayern run out 3-2 winners. Robert Lewandowski was the hero netting a brace as the German’s came from 1-0 down to lead 3-1 before Guilherme ensured there would be nervy last 10 minutes as Bayern eventually held out to make it three wins from three Champions League group games this season.
Bayern Munich to win
Olympiakos have only won two of their last seven UEFA away games and that record includes qualifiers. That is hardly impressive for a side the size of Olympiakos and one that makes the home almost inevitable. That is the way popular sportsbooks see it and as Bayern have a 100% record in the group this season and are the Champions League top scorers, its not hard to see why Bayern to win is the only way you can go.
