WI vs IND Match 3 Squad Comparison

West Indies

West Indies haven’t really been their true self in the T20I series so far. They will be playing for pride in the last T20I which be played back at home. Openers failing to give a good start in back to back games could have an effect on the team morale. While they have Nicholas Pooran, Shimron Hetmyer, Pollard and Rovman Powell in the middle, without a good start, their role becomes that of anchoring the innings.

The middle-order batsmen are mostly brute and radical in their batting style and have the ability to hit big sixes. They would play their natural game and build a big total if the top order lays a good foundation in the power play overs. Sunil Narine opened with Evin Lewis in the last match and was more disappointing than the opener he had replaced. Narine was out for 4 off 12 balls, while Evin Lewis scored his second duck in two T20 matches. This form of the top order is a worrying sign for Windies and they will need to patch things up soon.

India must be happy with the way their bowlers have performed. Washington Sundar and Krunal Pandya have done exceptionally well with the ball, along with pacer Navdeep Saini. Rishabh Pant couldn’t get runs in the last 2 games scoring 0 and 4. He should be looking to play his game freely and get some runs on the board before the ODIs start. In MS Dhoni’s absence, Rishabh Pant has a big role to play. He needs to get some confidence with a good knock in the 3rd and the final T20I match.

India’s tour of West Indies is also important for the in-form Indian top order. Dhawan had missed out a longer part of the ICC World Cup and is now back in the side for this series. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan have given many match-winning starts for India. India has won almost all of the matches when either of the two has shined with the bat. The pair scored a 67-runs partnership in the 2nd T20 international between India and West Indies. Virat Kohli has scores of 19 and 28 in the 2 matches, with not impressive strike rates. If these 3 play up to their standards, India will be in a very comfortable position.

Our Prediction for West Indies vs India

India would win this match

West Indies are struggling on the batting front, with repeated failures at the top. India’s top order is in form and looks ready to deliver even bigger performance in the final T20 game. India’s bowlers also are confident after two successful matches.

The live betting odds on top betting sites are likely to favor India for most of the match. With West Indies not delivering up to the expectations, bookmakers will likely perceive India able to make a comeback even if West Indies are doing well in the early phase of the match. India is overall a stronger and better side as of now, and the likeliness of West Indies defeating India at all fronts seems very less.
