Our Prediction Trinbago Knight Riders vs Guyana Amazon Warriors
Trinbago Knight Riders shall win this game
With last few league games remaining in the 2018 Caribbean Premier League the points table has already taken shape and the Top 4 sides have already earned their places in the play-offs. While the last few games in this round remain mere formality the Top 4 would like to get into play-offs with momentum behind them. The upcoming game between Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors is a clash of the titans with both sides sitting at 10 points after 7 games and would like to top the table with a win. Not surprisingly we have a cracker of a contest on our hands at Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad.
Trinbago Knight Riders
In the seven games Trinbago Knight Riders have come up with the performance one would expect from the reigning champions. Since their brilliant start against St Lucia where they won by 100 runs, Dwayne Bravo and his men have looked one of the best sides in the tournament. While the team showed some signs of nerves against Jamaica Tallawahs and Kitts and Nevis Patriots early in the tournament they go into the next game with four back-to-back wins where they have won convincingly and chased large totals comfortably. With a well-oiled machine that is performing at its peak Bravo would count on his men to win this contest.
In the batting department openers Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine are still struggling with the bat which is a big concern for the side. But Colin Munroe is in the form of his life at No. 3 and Brendon McCullum is doing well at No. 4 and the two have become the mainstays of the batting order. The middle order is exceptionally strong with Darren Bravo, wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin and Dwayne Bravo playing the finishing role perfectly. Switching over to bowling Fawad Ahmed is bowling miser spells and is being well supported by Al Khan and skipper himself. They have been able to contain oppositions remarkably well so and would like to continue with the same form in this game.
Guyana Amazon Warriors
Shoaib Malik has led the side from the front and the team has been able to hold onto its nerves so far in the tournament. While they have made it to the finals on three occasions being the most consistent side the title crown still eludes them. In the league games so far they have defeated the stronger sides surprisingly losing out to Barbados Tridents and St Lucia stars that are already out of the play-offs contention. Malik would hope that his side is able to play their best game in the next match and occupy the top spot in the points table.
In terms of form the batting looks good. Shimron Hetmyer has hit a purple patch this season and the team would bank on that. Openers Luke Ronchi and Chadwick Walton are finally among the runs after having miserable outings in the first few games. With Sherfane Rutherford and skipper Malik in the middle order they have perfect finishers to take on Riders’ bowling attack. The bowling line-up has improved increasingly in the last few games and Imran Tahir is making opponents struggle. Sohail Tanvir has looked good and so has Veerasammy Permaul. With Chris Green showing good form they have a bowling attack to win the game for them.
While both teams are tied on the same points in the table with a better head to head record Trinbago Knight Riders are expected to win this game.
