Tottenham 1 – 3 Wolves
Tottenham end 2018 hunting for some Wolves in their bid to chase down Liverpool at the top of the Premier League, even if Mauricio Pochettino will not admit that is the target.
Wolverhampton Wanderers may only have earned promotion from the Championship at the end of last season, but it already feels like they have been an established top-flight club for some time.
Mid table and with no relegation woes, it has been a solid start to life back in the Premier League for Wolves but now they face one of their sternest tests of the season with a trip to Wembley to face a free scoring Tottenham Hotspurs.
Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs are still bouncing after putting five past Bournemouth on the hallowed Wembley turf last time out and the signs are we could be in for another explosive 90 minutes of action especially for the home side.
Tottenham have bagged 22 goals in December, compared to Wolves’ seven, and it is hard to predict anything other than the home win.
The away side have also managed just eight goals on the road all season (the same as bottom club Huddersfield) but despite this have still picked up three road wins.
Wolves are a dangerous prospect, but Tottenham have more than enough gusto to tame them.
Considering three of the last five meetings between the two has seen over four goals a game, backing the Lilywhites to repeat their 2010 3-1 home win looks the best prediction for this clash.
- Both teams to score
Although Wolves are hardly prolific on the road, they have scored in their last four Premier League outings making them valuable when looking at online betting sites for value.
- Tottenham to win and both teams to score
An extension of the above bet but one that offers better odds, it is impossible to look beyond Tottenham especially as they have won their last five Premier League games in a row and netted 11 goals in their last two matches.
