GT20 Canada Eliminator Squad Comparison

Toronto Nationals

Moises Henriques captained the side in the last game in the absence of Yuvraj Singh and it was a great win for the team against Montreal Tigers and this has earned them a place in the Eliminator game. They batted well and were disciplined in their bowling efforts in the last game which will add to the confidence of the side going into the next one. With Yuvraj likely to come back the team would want to win over the Hawks against whom they had lost earlier in the season in what was a closely contested game.

The opening pair of Rodrigo Thomas and Chirag Suri look strong and the former having been in good form would like to provide his side with a good start. The middle-order has three experienced players in Moises Henriques, Yuvraj Singh, and Henrich Klassen and this will be tough for the Winnipeg bowlers. With Chris Green and Manpreet Gony in the side, they bat deep. In the bowling department Gony did well in the last game and so did Chris Green.  Mitchell McClenaghan, Sandeep Lamichhane and Jeremy Gordan add teeth to the bowling attack and they would be looking to pick early wickets in the game.

Winnipeg Hawks

The last few games haven’t gone in favor of JP Duminy’s side. Having started well in the tournament they have suddenly seen a dip in form that has caused few worries for the management. The side has a bunch of exciting players in its ranks but they have failed to play well as a unit in the last three games. Duminy would know that his side is up against a team that has gained momentum in the last few games. He would like his side to take confidence from having defeated Nationals earlier and win this one to make a place in the qualifier.

They have a good batting line-up at the top with openers Chris Lynn and Shaiman Anwar having done well in the tournament. Dwayne Smith and Duminy make the side look extremely strong going into this game. In Umar Akmal and Sunny Sohail, they have good finishers in their side and they would have to do well against the good bowling unit that Nationals have. It is their bowling which would be worrying the side the most. Apart from Mohammad Irfan, the performance of other bowlers has been poor in the season. Duminy, Kaleem Sana, and Paul van Meekeren will need to bowl well for the side to win in the next game.

Our Prediction for Toronto Nationals vs Winnipeg Hawks

Toronto Nationals are favorites to win this game

It is the eliminator game at the Global T20 Canada and Toronto Nationals which has looked in good form in the last few games shall take on Winnipeg Hawks. The Hawks are coming into this game with terrible run of form after they had started the tournament on a strong note. But it is a do-or-die game for both the sides at the CAA Centre, Brampton, Ontario and they would put all they have to earn a place in the qualifier of the tournament.

Toronto Nationals have a strong batting line-up and going into the game with momentum they would start as favorites
