CPL Qualifier 2 Squad Comparison

Trinbago Knight Riders

The defending champions returned to form when it mattered the most as they ousted St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Eliminator game to earn their place in the second qualifier. The season had started on a high for Kieron Pollard’s team but they barely managed to win anything in the latter half of the group stage barely making it to the playoffs. It was an easy win for them against the Patriots in the last game and they would be looking to keep on with the same form in the next one. They had lost against Barbados Tridents in both their group games and would look to break that jinx in the next game.

Lendl Simmons looks in good form at the top and along with Sunil Narine will need to provide his side with a good start. It is at the top that the side hasn’t done well in the last few games and can’t afford another top-order collapse. Colin Munro and Darren Bravo have been on and off with their form and shall need to do well in the next game. With Dinesh Ramdin and Pollard playing well in the lower end of the innings the side would be confident ahead of the next game. Narine has been a top performer with the ball this season. Chris Jordan and Ali Khan have also bowled good lines. But the side will need better show with the ball from Khary Pierre and Akeal Hosein in the next game.

Barbados Tridents

Jason Holder’s side fought well against Guyana Amazon Warriors in the first qualifier to lose the game by 30 runs towards the end. The side after having made a poor start to the season has looked good in the last few games. The batsmen are doing well at the moment while the bowling attack is struggling a bit. Holder would like his side to draw confidence from the kind of performance the side has put up in the two games they played against the Knight Riders this season which they won easily. It is a do or dies game for the team and he would want his boys to put up a grand show.

They have a strong opening pair of Alex Hales and Johnson Charles and these two players have done well in the season. The side would need a good start from these players. The middle-order has good firepower in Shakib Al Hasan, Shai Hope and JP Duminy and these players have played well so far. With Jonathan Carter and Holder in the lower order, the side has good finishers. Their bowling attack had a bad day in the last game. Holder and Shakib will need to use all their experience to check the strong bowling line-up. Raymond Reifer and Harry Gurney have bowled well earlier in the season. Hayden Walsh has also done well. They have the bowling attack to trouble the batsmen on the opposite camp.

Our Prediction for TKR vs BT

Trinbago Knight Riders would win this game

It is the second qualifier game of the 2019 season of the Caribbean Premier League where defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders would meet Barbados Tridents at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad. Though the Knight Riders have lost both the games against the Tridents betting sites in India are still rating the Knight Riders as the favourites as they have the experience of playing in big matches. Tridents, on the other hand, have looked good in the last few games and this will make it an interesting game with good hitters of the ball on both sides.

Trinbago Knight Riders have an appetite for big match success and going into this game they would start as favourites.
