Big Bash 10th Match Squad Comparison

Sydney Sixers

Moises Henriques would be terribly upset with the performance of his side in the previous game against Sydney Thunder. Bad show at the top meant that the side failed to chase the total down. This after the team has started the season well with a win over Perth Scorchers at home. As the team now heads back to SCG to play the next game against Melbourne Stars Henriques would expect his batsmen to fire. It is going to be a tough contest as the Stars also come into this game with a must win situation.
Lot will depend on openers Joe Denly and Jack Edwards who haven’t had the best season so far. They have thrown their wickets early which have upset the team’s cause. Moises Henriques has also looked out of sorts so far in the season. Daniel Hughes and Jordan Silk have batted well so far in the season and would be looking to continue with their form. Sean Abbott and Tom Curran too have batted well and would look to strike in the latter end of the game. As far as their bowling attack is concerned Tom Curran and Steve O’Keefe bowled well in the last game while Sean Abbott went for runs. The skipper would expect these three along with Ben Dwarshuis to bowl well in the next game.

Melbourne Stars

It hasn’t been the kind of start that Melbourne Stars skipper Glenn Maxwell would have hoped for the side. Despite having one of the start-studded teams of the season they have failed to open their account on the points table. After suffering two back to back losses against Sydney Thunder and Hobart Hurricanes the team finds itself tied in the bottom of the table. Maxwell clearly knows that his side can’t afford another loss or it would get extremely tough for the side for the rest of the season. He would be pinning hopes on the seasoned players in the line-up to fire in the upcoming game.
Travis Dean and Ben Dunk have failed to offer a good start to the side in both the games and they would be hoping for a course correction in the next game. Nick Larkin along with Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis did play well in the last game and would look to repeat their form. Dwayne Bravo will need to work his magic in the end for the side to do well. As far as the bowling unit is concerned Dwayne Bravo and Scott Boland need to bowl well. Sandeep Lamichhan has been good so far this season and with good support from Maxwell and Adam Zampa the side should do well.

Our Prediction for Sydney Sixers vs Melbourne Stars

Sydney Sixers will win this game
Melbourne Stars aren’t doing justice to the talent they have in the side. They were one of the top sides in the Big Bash 2018-19 predictions but they are yet to justify that belief. They have lost both their games so far and would need to win the upcoming one. Sydney Sixers on the other have come into this game having lost the derby against Thunder. They wouldn’t like to let their fans down at home in the next game. The upcoming game at the Sydney Cricket Ground should be an exciting one.
There isn’t much to choose between the two sides on form but Sydney Sixers would be playing at home and this puts them in the driver’s seat as far as the upcoming game is concerned.
