Kyle Coetzer would be aware of the fact that they won’t get an opportunity to play against a full member ICC side too soon and such games have been rare for the side. This is the reason the Scottish skipper would be sad to have seen the first game being washed away by rain. In the series against Afghanistan they have fought well in the only game that was played and batted really well. He would want his team to play the same brand or aggressive cricket and win the upcoming game which will do a world of good to the confidence of the side.

Matthew Cross and Kyle Coetzer make a great opening pair and had done well in the last game against Afghanistan and look to do the same again. Calum MacLeod made a wonderful hundred in that game. The batting looks strong with the likes of Richie Berrington, George Munsey and Craig Wallace in the side. It is their bowling attack that is their weak point. Bradley Wheal and Safyaan Sharif will need to do well with the new ball and the side would expect good performances from Alasdair Evans, Tom Sole and Mark Watt going into this game.

Sri Lanka

Dimuth Karunaratne, the new skipper would have been terribly upset with the first game being washed away. The team has been undergoing series of problems and the fact that the skipper hasn’t played an ODI game in four years summarizes the problem for the side. This series is meant to be a good opportunity for them to get used to the conditions they are likely to encounter in the World Cup in England. Karunaratne would want the weather gods to be kind for them to see a full game and win it as a confidence booster.

The opening combination of Avishka Fernando and Lahiru Thirimanne will need to provide a good start to the side in the game. The middle order has good players in Dimuth Karunaratne, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Thisara Perera and Dhananjaya de Silva. The problem for the side in the recent years has been its inconsistent batting and they would look to get over this in the upcoming game. The bowling attack looks good with Lasith Malinga and Suranga Lakmal sharing the new ball. Thisara Perera, Jeevan Mendis and Dhananjaya de Silva will need to do well in the middle overs for the side to win.

Our Prediction for Scotland vs Sri Lanka 2nd ODI

Sri Lanka will win this game

&nsbp;

It was shame to see the 1st ODI of the two-match series being washed away by rain at Grange Cricket Club, Edinburgh. For the Scottish fans not used to seeing too many fixtures at home it was the second disappointment in the moth after a similar washout against Afghanistan. The two sides would meet at the same ground for the second and final game of the series. The hosts would be looking to win the game and offer a treat to their fans. For Sri Lanka it will be their last ODI before the start of the World Cup and the side which has too many problems at hand would be looking for some solution in the game. It promises to be an exciting contest between the two sides.

Sri Lanka has experience on its side along with players who have faced tougher opponents and this will make them favorites in this game.
