ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers Match 8 Squad Comparison

Scotland

It was a heartbreak for Kyle Coetzer’s side as they threw away a game that they should have won easily against Singapore. The side looked comfortable in the chase before they ended up losing the game by 2 runs in the last over where they lost 3 wickets due to some mindless shots. Betting sites in India had them as the favorites but it was nerves that got the better of them in the last game. Coetzer would want his men to put all that behind and play the next game with determination and earn their first points for the tournament.

George Munsey and Kyle Coetzer looked good at the top in the last game and would be looking to provide a good start in the next one. Ollie Hairs missed out but will look to do well in the next game. Calum MacLeod batted well and shall have to hold the innings together with the likes of Berrington, Matthew Cross and Tom Sole who failed against Singapore. In the bowling department, Safyaan Sharif and Josh Davey looked good with the new ball and so did Hamza Tahir and they would definitely trouble the Kenyan batsmen. Alasdair Evans and Sole will have to check their line and not leak runs.

Kenya

Shem Ngoche didn’t have the most convincing start in their opening game Netherlands. Poor batting at the top followed by a collapse of the lower order resulted in the side losing by a margin of 30 runs in the game. This has now created pressure for the team as they play against a higher-ranked Scotland in the next game. The bowlers did a decent job on a flat surface but the performance of the batsmen would have created some problems for the side which the skipper would like to overcome in the next game.

Openers Dhiren Gondaria and Alex Obanda will need to provide a good start to the side in the next game and not throw away their wickets as they did in the last game. Jasraj Kundi will have to play a better role at No. 3. Collins Obuya and Rakep Patel batted well and will look to hold the innings together in the next game. The likes of Ngoche and Nelson Odhiambo will need to contribute in the next game. In the bowling department, Ngoche and Obuya bowled well. The side would want to see a better show from the new ball bowlers Lucas Oluoch and Elijah Otieno in the next game and also from Pushpak Kerai.

Our Prediction for Scotland vs Kenya

Scotland would win this game

Scotland would take on Kenya in the 8th game of the 2019 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers. Both sides have lost their opening games which have created pressure in the respective camps. While Scotland lost by a small margin it was a big loss for both Kenya. It is still the early stage of the tournament and both sides have ample opportunity to make it to the knockout stage. The two sides would now aim for a win and rising up on the points table in what should be a competitive game of cricket.

Scotland has a more experienced team than Kenya and also a stronger batting line-up. This will make them favorites in the next game.
