ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers Match 30 Squad Comparison

Richie Berrington who led the side in absence of regular skipper Kyle Coetzer saw the team going down against Namibia in the last game by 24 runs. Betting sites in India had Scotland as the overwhelming favorites but the side was let down by some ordinary performance with the bat from its frontline batsmen. With two losses in four games the side is now under serious pressure and will need to win the upcoming game against Bermuda to strengthen its prospects in the tournament. Since Bermuda hasn’t done well the side would be counting its chances in the next game.

Kyle Coetzer’s return in the next game will strengthen the batting for the side with George Munsey already having done well in few games. In the middle order the side has a good player in Calum MacLeod who along with Richie Berrington is in good form and the two would look to score quickly in the next game. Michael Leask and Matthew Cross would need to use the long handle well in the next game. Mark Watt and Hamza Tahir have bowled well so far in the tournament. Alasdair Evans coming in makes the attack looks strong with Tom Sole bowling economically. The side would expect better show from Safyaan Sharif and Josh Davey who went for runs in the last game.

They look to be in shreds at the moment in this tournament. Regular skipper Dion Stovell dropped himself owning to poor form in the last game and Rodney Trott took over the captaincy. This decision wasn’t enough to change the fortunes of the side as they went down by 6 wickets against Namibia in the last game, their fourth consecutive loss in the tournament. The side has no hopes of making it to the playoff stage and now has to play only for pride. Trott would want his players to show some character against the strong Scottish side they would face in the next game.

Batting has been the problem area for the side and it floundered again in the last game. Apart from Okera Bascome and Derrick Brangman bating at No. 8 and 10 who added up 60 runs the rest of the batting collapsed and the story has been the same in all the games played so far. The likes of Kamau Leverock, Terryn Fray, Delray Rawlins and Janeiro Tucker will have to make contributions at the top if the side is to compete in the next game. In the bowling department Leverock is doing well and so is Rawlins. But the side would need better bowling efforts from Malachi Jones and Derrick Brangman if they need to test the strong batting lineup that Scotland has.

Our Prediction for Scotland vs Bermuda

Scotland would win this game

The 30th match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers will see Scotland taking on Bermuda. Scotland hasn’t played as per its own standards so far and after four games they have had to bear two losses that came against lower-ranked sides. They would look to turn it around in the next game. As for Bermuda, they have not been able to compete in the tournament so far let alone win any game. It will require a herculean effort from the side to come out winning in the next game against an experienced Scottish team.

Scotland has an experienced bunch of players as compared to Bermuda and this would make them favorites in the next game.
