ICC World Cup Qualifiers Match 10 Squad Comparison

Papua New Guinea

Assad Vala had an impressive outing against Bermuda in the first game. They bowled exceptionally well to dismiss their opponents for 89 runs and chased down the score in the eleventh over with all their wickets intact. It was a perfect show by the side on all counts especially their bowlers who impressed on a pitch that had little in terms of movement and turn. Having got the perfect start in the tournament the side would be looking to carry the same form in the next game and move up on the points table.

Tony Ura and skipper Assad Vala ensured an easy 10 wicket win for the side in the last game. With the opening pair looking strong the side would be counting on its batting that has likes of Lega Siaka, Charles Amini and Sese Bau in the middle order and three good hitters in the form of Riley Hekure, Kiplin Dorigo, and Jason Kila. The bowling attack did a superb job in the last game especially Norman Vanua and Nosaina Pokana and the side would be looking at them for another good game. Charles Amini and Damien Ravu also bowled well and they would look to continue the same form in the next game.

Namibia

It was a poor start to the tournament for Gerhard Erasmus’ side as they went down against the Netherlands in the last game by 44 runs. The side had done well with the ball but it was a collective failure on part of their batsmen that saw them getting bowled out for mere 96 runs in the game. Going into the next game against a strong opponent the side would be looking to do well. They will need to work on their batting to earn their first points for the tournament.

Openers Jean-Pierre Kotze and Niko Davin will need to provide a good start to the side after failing in the last game. The side would also hope to see better efforts with the bat from the middle order comprising of Christi Viljoen, skipper Gerhard Erasmus and JJ Smit. Craig Williams with his hitting abilities will look to do well in the next game. Jan Frylinck and Bernard Scholtz bowled well in the last game and shall look to do the same in the next one. The side would, however, like to see a better show from new ball bowlers Zhivago Groenewald and Viljoen who leaked runs early in the last game
