Pakistani skipper Sarfraz Ahmed would be extremely happy with the win in the second T20 game at the very same ground. More so after batsmen failed to put up a huge score on the board. The bowlers were on the money right from the word go and didn’t let the Australians start the way they would have desired. However Ahmed has his own worries with the performance of the middle order. For the second time in succession the middle and lower order failed to capitalize on the platform was laid by the top order. This is one area where the skipper would look to improve in the last game and make it 3-0 for the series.
Opener Fakhar Zaman’s struggle with the bat continues but at the other end Babar Azam is showing the exceptional skills he has with the bat. Veteran Mohammad Hafeez seems to be improving with every game. With experienced Sohaib Malik, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Asif Ali and Faheem Ashraf in the middle they have a formidable line-up. The skipper would hope his lower order doesn’t throw away wickets like they have done in the previous games. Talking about bowling Imad Wasim is in great form and so is Faheem Ashraf and they have rattled the Aussies in both the games. If they find active support from Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali and Shaheen Afridi it would be difficult for the Australians to win the next game.
Aussie skipper Aaron Finch is leading perhaps the most un-Australian team we have seen in the recent times. While there is no question about the talent in the side even in the absence of Steve Smith and David Warner but somewhere nothing seems to fall according to their plan. The batsmen are letting the side down and have failed to chase mediocre T20 scores on both occasions. The top order has been falling to poor shots on batting friendly wickets even before the Pakistani spinners come to party. Given the context of the series which they have already lost Finch would hope his side gets back things in order and leaves UAE with a win under their belt.
Aaron Finch and D Arcy Short aren’t offering the side the kind of start needed in this format and have failed in both games. Chris Lynn isn’t in the best of form and same has been the case of Ben McDermott. Glenn Maxwell did display his power hitting side in the last game but with others failing to offer active company their approach and mental toughness are bound to be questioned. Australian bowling has been decent in both the games and Andrew Tye along with Billy Stanlake will need to pick early wickets for the likes of Nathan Coulter-Nile and Adam Zampa to restrict the Pakistanis. Both the spinners have made good use of the conditions so far. It is going to be an uphill task in the next game but the side would hope to win it and hold their heads high.
Pakistanis are on the top and shall start as favourites to win this game and make it a 3-0 series while the Australians would have to bring out something special to defeat them.
Our Prediction for Pakistan vs Australia
Pakistan will win the 3rd T20 game
It seems the mighty Australian cricket team has lost the art of winning. With only one game remaining to end their tour of UAE, Australian cricket seems to be standing at crossroads. While the team was expected to struggle in the Test series their performance in the two T20 games would have disappointed even their die-hard fans. They were beaten comprehensively in the first T20 but in the second game they looked clueless out there in the park chasing a small score of 148. Aussie skipper Aaron Finch would feel devastated having seen good days with the side in the past. As the teams prepare to pull curtains on the series the Aussies would have to play for pride while Pakistanis won’t like to let go off the opportunity of a whitewash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
