The Favorites

Jamie Vardy scored once again as Leicester’s fantastic run of form continued against Arsenal – and that was enough to install the England international as the new favourite for the Golden Boot. Tammy Abraham and Mo Salah also managed to find the net to keep them in the hunt for the prize. Former favourite Sergio Aguero came up short at Anfield once again though.

1. Jamie Vardy – It was thought that Vardy would move after Leicester’s stunning title win a few years ago – but he has stayed at the club that gave him a chance and has decided to repay them in goals.

2. Sergio Aguero – Manchester City have more than enough strikers to choose from but Aguero has a habit of regularly getting on the score sheet.

3. Tammy Abraham – With Chelsea unable to bring in any new players this summer Abraham is set to be given a chance to show how good he really is.

4. Mo Salah – Last year’s joint winner looks to be a good bet for repeating his triumph this year.

5. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – The Arsenal striker looks hungry for goals once again this season but does attract very attractive odds.

6. Harry Kane – The England captain remains one of the favourites with the bookies.

7. Raheem Sterling – The Manchester City attacker has grown in confidence since the beginning of last season and looks like he will be in the running this year.

8. Sadio Mane – Liverpool are another team that have a few options when it comes to strikers. But Mane is usually good for a goal or two.

9. Marcus Rashford – If Manchester United score then it is usually likely that the young England international will be involved in some way.

10. Callum Wilson – The Bournemouth striker has overcome a number of injuries over the last few years to look like a good outside bet for the Golden Boot.

West Ham vs Tottenham Hotspur – Spurs are not enjoying themselves this season but always look forward to a London derby, so Harry Kane will want to find the net here. See all match odds

Arsenal vs Southampton – The other North London club is not having the best of times either – but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be up for trying his hand against a Southampton side that have looked very poor this season. See all match odds

Bournemouth vs Wolves – Eddie Howe has his Bournemouth side playing some really good football this season – and the results have been largely positive. Wolves will be a tough test though. See all match odds

Brighton vs Leicester City – Brighton are not the defensive kings that they were under Chris Hughton, but new boss Graham Potter has them playing well and this may not be as easy as some pundits expect for Jamie Vardy’s Leicester. See all match odds

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool – Liverpool won the big game against Manchester City last week and it looks like a 30-year wait for a league title may be coming to an end. Three more points in South London will help. See all match odds

Manchester City vs Chelsea – After losing at Anfield Pep Guardiola will now be hoping for Liverpool to slip up. But his team must do their bit too – starting with a home win against Chelsea. See all match odds

Sheffield United vs Manchester United – It’s been a tough season for Manchester United, but Marcus Rashford’s goals have been a highlight. He will need to be on top form to get anything from a trip to Bramall Lane however. See all match odds

Our Prediction

Vardy to become the Premier League’s top goal scorer

Jamie Vardy has to be the most consistent striker in the Premier League at the moment – and he certainly seems to be enjoying himself. He is now the bookies’ favourite for the Golden Boot and he does seem to have the lead over the likes of Salah, Kane and Aguero right now.
