T20 Blast 2nd Quarter-Final Squad Comparison

Notts Outlaws

It was a below-par performance by Daniel Christian’s team against Durham Jets in the last league game where they went down by 47 runs. The skipper would like his side to put this behind as they head into the next game and play well against Middlesex. They had a good season in the first half but produced few ordinary performances towards the end. The team nonetheless is packed with performers and they would like to go into this game with a positive frame of mind and eye a spot in the semi-finals of the season.

The opening pair of Joe Clarke and Alex Hales has had a mixed bag of a season and they will need to deliver if the team is to do well in the next game. In the middle order Samit Patel, Jake Libby and Ben Duckett shall have to fire given the kind of challenge they would be up against. Tom Moores and Daniel Christian shall have to finish the innings in the right manner. In the bowling department, Harry Gurney has done well so far and so have Matthew Carter and Imad Wasim. Christian along with Samit Patel shall have to bowl well in the next game.

Dawid Malan would have been extremely happy with the way his team ended their poor run in the league stages with an empathic win against Somerset. It was due for long and just showed the kind of batting firepower the side has going into this game. While the side has struggled with its bowling attack all through the season it is their batting that has won them most of the games. As the team heads into the knockout stage Malan would hope his batsmen continue their brilliance and the bowlers support them well.

The batting looks good at the top with openers Malan and Paul Stirling being in good form. It is however in the middle order that the side packs a real punch. With AB de Villiers, Mohammad Hafeez and Eoin Morgan in the side the team would count its chances going into this game. They would want the likes of George Scott and John Simpson to do the needful finishing the innings. The bowling attack has not had a great season though Toby Roland-Jones and Steven Finn have done well. They will expect to find support from Hafeez, Scott and Tom Helm going into this game.

Our Prediction for Notts Outlaws vs Middlesex

Middlesex would win this game

It is expected to be an intense game at Trent Bridge, Nottingham where the Notts Outlaws would meet Middlesex in the second quarterfinals of Vitality T20 Blast. Both the sides have had a good season and managed to finish within the top four in their respective groups. The sides have good mix of players in their camps which will make this game one to watch out for. The crowds at Nottingham are expected to be treated with a high scoring game with both the sides packed with power hitters.

It is a close call between the two sides but Middlesex have a powerful batting lineup and this will put them nose ahead of Notts Outlaws going into this game.
