PSL 2nd Match Squad Comparison
Imad Wasim will be leading the Kings in the Pakistan Super League 2019 season. The Kings had lost to Peshawar Zalmi in the Eliminator 2 of PSL 2018 season inspite of fifties from Babar Azam and Joe Denly. While Joe Denly is with the England team on tour of West Indies, the batting order has Babar Azam, Colin Ingram, Ben Dunk to strengthen the hitting and push the boundary frequency in their innings.
Sikandar Raza and Ravi Bopara are the two overseas all-rounders in the squad, who have recently played in the Bangladesh Premier League. Ravi Bopara’s performance with both bat and ball was worth noticing in Bangladesh. He would play a key role for Kings as an all-rounder.
Sohail Khan and Mohammad Amir for a good right hand-left hand fast-medium bowling combination to trouble the bowlers at the top, while the squad included two left-arm orthodox bowlers, skipper Imad Wasim and 19-year old Umer Khan. With a batting and a bowling all-rounder, both with different styles of bowling in their side Kings could pose a great challenge to the Multan Sultans.
Sultans had a rough time last season as their journey went downhill from halfway in the league. After winning 4 of the first 6 matches of the Pakistan Super League 2018 season and losing only 1, Multan Sultans lost 4 back-to-back matches thereafter finishing with only 4 wins in 10 matches and not making it to the qualifiers.
While that’s now history and their upcoming performances can’t be predicted from that, they are very likely to start as underdogs based on that. The Sultans have big hitters in their squad that include Andre Russell, Johnson Charles, Laurie Evans who could be very crucial in building huge totals. Skipper Shoaib Malik himself is in great form and a successful all-rounder in this format of the game. Speaking of all-rounders, Multan Sultan squad has 11 of them including Shahid Afridi, Daniel Christian, Chris Green, Shan Masood.
Afridi was great with the ball for Comilla Victorians in the recently concluded BPL, where his side won the title. Afridi’s bowling in the death overs was top notch with a maiden against Dhaka defending a low total. The pace attack of Sultans will be headed by the 7ft tall left-arm fast medium Mohammad Irfan. Junaid Khan will also share the bowling responsibilities with him. Khan had played for Khulna Titans in the BPL where he had his good days picking up wickets and bowling a good economy.
Our Prediction for Karachi Kings vs Multan Sultans
Karachi Kings are favourites to win this match
Kings look a stronger side in batting and the bowling department.Though the league is in early stage where a match is yet to be played, looking at the recent performances of some players who played in BPL, both sides have solid players and a tough competition can be expected. This match will be crucial from a cricket betting perspective as Multan Sultans performance would set a bar from which they would be judged as favourites or underdogs for their next match.
