Round 3 of this season witnessed 11 matches, and some more changes in the Power Rankings. It started with DC suffering yet another loss at home, this time at the hands of SRH, while RCB continued their losing streak and lost to KKR at home.

MI defended 136 runs against SRH getting the latter all-out for 96 as Alzarri Joseph finished 6 for 12 on his IPL debut. While RCB lost another one at home to DC, while RR lost to KKR at home on the following day of the double-header.
