West Indies

India’s stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma would have been impressed with the result in the previous game. It was an outstanding performance from his bowlers against a hard-hitting West Indian batting line-up. The two debutants impressed with their bowling in the last game which would have pleased the skipper. But the batting especially at the top was found wanting something the skipper would hope is sorted out in the next game. Rohit would know that in this format he can’t expect to win against a formidable opposition with poor batting.  With the opportunity to win the series in the next game he wouldn’t like to give the opposition an inch of opportunity.

Openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan failed in the last game but would like to put up an impressive performance in the next one. Lokesh Rahul did start positively but failed to exploit. The middle order that has Rishab Pant and Manish Pandey need to capitalize on the opportunity in the next game as wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik and Krunal Pandya made most out of the opportunity at hand. On the bowling side Umesh Yadav has been leaking too many runs all through this series but Jasprit Bumrah has been bowling well and so is youngster Khaleel Ahmed. With Kuldeep Yadav and Pandya having troubled the West Indies in the last game they have the right mix in their bowling line-up to win the game.

West Indies

Skipper Carlos Brathwaite knows that his team is capable of much better show in this format but the batting woes which started in the last two ODIs continue to haunt them. If there is one area where the side needs to improve it is the performance of their openers. Every game in the series the No. 1 and 2 have failed the side. Their problems were compounded by their inability to stand against the Indian spinners in the game. With the fate of the series at stake in the next game the skipper would hope his side comes up with an impressive show against the Indians and wins the game handsomely taking the series to the last game in Chennai.

Shai Hope and wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin didn’t give the start the side needed in the last game and they would look to do it in the upcoming game. While it was a failure in the middle order from Shimron Hetmyer, Kieron Pollard, Darren Bravo and Rovman Powell they are great campaigners in T20 format and will not like to repeat the mistakes. It was impressive finishing by Fabian Allen in the last game. With respect to their bowling Oshane Thomas and skipper Carlos Brathwaite impressed along with Khary Pierre. They need good support from the likes of Pollard and Keemo Paul to tighten strings from all ends in the next game win against the Indians.

Indians would start as overwhelming favourites to win the next game and seal the series. West Indies on the other hand may have something to surprise the Indians.

Our Prediction for India vs West Indies

India will win the 2nd T20 game

The much anticipated high-scoring T20 encounter between world champions West Indies and an in form Indian team at the Eden Gardens turned out to be a damp squib. In all 219 runs were scored in the game which India won to take a 1-0 lead in the 3-Match series. It was a merry day for bowlers on both the sides as batsmen struggled to score runs let alone hit those big sixes. In all there were two hits over the boundary one in each innings. As the teams head to Ekana International Cricket Stadium, Lucknow the series is at stake for the West Indies and Indians would like to wrap up things in style. We have the right ingredients in our hands for an exciting game of cricket.
