IND vs RSA 3rd Test Squad Comparison

Indian team continued its dominance in the second Test match winning it by an innings and 137 runs and winning the three-match series 2-0 with one match to go. Skipper Virat Kohli couldn’t have asked for a better show from the team as they dominated all the sessions in the game never allowing the South African team to put them under pressure. Batsmen did a splendid job for the side and the bowlers brilliantly used the conditions to earn a victory. Kohli would be looking to make it a clean sweep in the next game and given the form his side is in the Indian skipper would be confident ahead of the game.

Mayank Agarwal continued with his brilliant form in the series and with Rohit Sharma also looking in great form would look to take on the South African attack. Kolhi is in great form after registering his highest Test score in the last game. With Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane looking good the side has a very strong middle order. Ravindra Jadeja, Wriddhiman Saha, and Ravichandran Ashwin add to the depth of the batting line-up which would be a headache for the South Africans. Umesh Yadav bowled brilliantly in his comeback game and got good support from Mohammad Shami and Ishant Shama. The spin bowling duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Jadeja continue to trouble the South Africans and shall look to do the same in the next game.

South Africa

Faf du Plessis’ side meekly surrendered to the Indian onslaught in the last game. There was hardly any resistance from the players and this would have hurt the South African skipper the most. Losing the toss against the Indians has proved to be costly for the side so far in the series and the skipper would hope for lady luck to be on his side. Injuries to Ngidi and Keshav Maharaj have compounded the problems for the team. As they play the next game the skipper would want his side to show some character against the strong Indian squad.

Aiden Markram is having a horrible series at the top which is compounding the problems for the side. Dean Elgar has looked good and shall need to provide a good start to the side. Theunis de Bruyn has struggled at No. 3 and needs to deliver in the next game. Faf du Plessis, Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock have to convert their starts into big scores against the strong bowling line-up that India has. In the bowling department, Kagiso Rabada has bowled with a lot of heart but hasn’t found support from other bowlers. Vernon Philander and Anrich Nortje need to support him well. Injury to Keshav Maharaj compounds the problem for the side and Dane Piedt needs to step up and deliver.

Our Prediction for India vs South Africa

India would win this game

Indians have dominated this series so far and it is no surprise that betting sites in India consider the hosts to be the overwhelming favorites to win the last game. The Indian side has outplayed South Africans in both the games so far. Their batting line-up has looked strong and the South African batsmen have been clueless about the Indian bowling attack. It would require a lot of heart and character for the South Africans to overcome the odds in the next game at Ranchi. Indians would be aiming for a clean sweep and this is something the South Africans would be looking to avoid.

Based on the performance we have seen from the two sides so far in the series Indians definitely look favorites to win the next game and take the series 3-0.
