IND vs RSA 2nd Test Squad Comparison

The Indian team lead by Virat Kohli put up an incredible show in the last game. Everything worked for the team with their batsmen showing their superiority in these conditions and the South African team never really looked to be in a position to trouble them. Their bowlers were spot on and put the visitors under pressure in both the innings. Having drawn first blood Virat would want his players to apply the same pressure as they go into the next game. A win in Pune would seal the series for the side and the Indian skipper wouldn’t like to take the series decider to the last game.

Rohit Sharma put up an incredible show opening for the first time in his career while Mayank Agarwal just proved why he is rated so highly as a cricketer with his double hundred in the game. Cheteshwar Pujara looked solid in the second innings while Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane played their part well in the game. With Ravichandran Ashwin, Wriddhiman Saha, Hanuma Vihari and Ravindra Jadeja the side bats deep which is a big challenge for the South Africans. Ashwin and Jadeja were incredible with the ball in the first innings while Mohammad Shami chipped in with a great spell in the second. Ishant Sharma and Vihari also kept up the pressure on the batsmen and they would look to do the same in the next game.

South Africa

Faf du Plessis got everything wrong in the Test Match starting from the team selection as his bowling attack lacked teeth to take on the opponents and looked out of rhythm going into this game. His batsmen were also behind in their performance apart from some fightback by the middle order and tail-ender in the first innings. The side has a mountain to climb going into the next game where they would have to face an incredibly strong batting and bowling line-up. His bowlers will need to make good use of the conditions as they play the next game and his batsmen especially the top order has to stand up against the Indian bowlers.

Aiden Markram looked out of sorts in the game, though his opening partner Dean Elgar played a good knock in the first innings. Theunis de Bruyn and Temba Bavuma looked out of sorts in the game and shall need to put up a better show in the next game. Faf du Plessis and Quinton de Kock played well and will need to guide the batting in the next game. Their batsmen would need to spend time on the wicket to do well in the game. Kagiso Rabada didn’t threaten the Indian batsmen with the ball which hurt the side. Lungi Ngidi needs to be in the side for the next game in place of Vernon Philander. The biggest setback for the side was Keshav Maharaj and Dane Piedt who failed to trouble the Indian batsmen on a turning track and shall need to make use of the conditions in the next game.

Our Prediction for India vs South Africa

India would win this game

Betting sites in India had rated the Indian team has favourites in this series and they have lived up to this with their performance in the 1st Test Match. It was a convincing win for the hosts where they never allowed the South Africans off the hook in the last game. As the two sides head to Pune for the next game the visitors have a big challenge on their hands and would have to win this one to level the series. The Indian side having started well in the series would look to dominate them again.

Indians demoralized the South Africans in the 1st Test Match and going into the next one they would definitely start as favourites.
