Asif Ali was the next man in and he played a quick innings of 30 runs off 21 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes. The partnership between Asif Ali and Shoaib Malik was a quick 38 runs. It couldn’t last longer as Shoaib Malik who scored the highest runs (78) in the innings with 4 fours and 2 sixes was caught behind on a delivery from Bumrah in the 44th over.

Dismissing a settled and in-form batsman, India now had the edge over Pakistan and it was going to be a tough task if Pakistan had to score above 250.

Asif Ali was the next man out bowled by Chahal right in the next over. Pakistan finished 237-7 in 50 overs.

Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Kuldeep Yadav picked 2 wicket each. Bumrah was the most economical with figures of 29-2 in 10 overs with 1 maiden.

Given the form of Indian openers in the recent matches, this was a very low total and Pakistan would have needed a solid bowling and fielding effort to defend it.
