The thing that would be on the eyes of every cricket punter is about ICC Cricket World Cup final prediction. Given the fact that this tournament has restricted entry to only 10 teams it is expected to be one of the most competitive events the game has seen in many years. Minus one or two sides all the sides have the potential to go far into the tournament and win it. So which nation would be the world champions in this edition? Which sides are most likely to play the ICC World Cup final 2019? Let us try and answer some of those questions.
A T20 content can be won by fluke (without belittling the format) while a Test series tends to separate the two teams based on skills and form, a ODI contest perhaps sits somewhere in between. But 2019 World Cup’s format makes it competitive. Unlike the disastrous format of the 2007 event that saw shocking exits of some of the bigger sides early on, 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup schedule would see head to head clashes between all the sides which will make it interesting to follow. Before the first ball has been bowled it is a tough ask to make the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 final prediction. But the form and preparations of the 10 sides do give us some clue and we shall try and explore these here.
Who will make it to the final of ICC World Cup 2019? If you are planning to bet on the outright winner of the tournament this is one question that would be on your mind. Outright winner market is surely among the most popular ones you can think of. All the ten teams are busy in their preparations and unlike previous editions there isn’t a single team that is miles ahead of the others. Based on our analysis here are the three teams we expect to be the top contenders for ICC World Cup final 2019.
|The most successful team in Cricket World Cup’s history with 5 titles they haven’t had the greatest of runs in the last two years, in fact it has been their worst since the start of the millennia. With former skipper Steven Smith and hard-hitting opener David Warner back in the side after serving their bans for ball tempering, they look a different side all together. Given their ability to rise up to the occasion they are one of the favorites to make it to the final of this edition. Apart from the duo other players including skipper Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc shall hold key to success.
|The English side was always seen playing previous generation’s cricket as far as ODI format goes. After the debacle in the last edition the team has undergone an overhaul. In came a new skipper Eoin Morgan who has completely turned in around. Since the last edition they have been the best performing ODI side. Playing at home may also work to their advantage. They have one of the best batting line-ups in the tournament and their fortunes would rest on the performances of Jonny Bairstow, Jason Roy, Joe Root, Jos Buttler and Adil Rashid who make it a power packed team.
|Led by the best batsmen in the world Virat Kohli the Indian team would want to relive the glory of 1983 where they brought down the mighty West Indies and bagged their first title before following it up with another one in 2011. They were knocked out in the semi-finals in the last edition by Australia and since then have had a great record in this format. The team is a batting powerhouse with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and the ever dependable MS Dhoni. They also have the best spin attack in Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal apart from one of world’s best death bowlers Jasprit Bumrah.
There are few other teams that can go all the way in the tournament. South Africa ticks all the boxes in terms of having a well-balanced side but their history of chocking under pressure (remember 1999, 2007 and 2015) might come in the way of their success. New Zealand has the batting firepower to match any team but their lack of bowling options beyond Tim Southee and Trent Boult makes them look vulnerable.
This is perhaps the toughest one to predict at the moment but we shall stick our neck out and say that we expect cricket’s oldest rival Australia and England clash in the finals of this edition. And we shall put our money on Australia to win their sixth title.
