Vitality Blast 4th Quarter-FInal Squad Comparison

Michael Klinger’s side has done well in the league stage of the season and they would be looking to repeat the same show as they play the first knockout game. The team has good strength both in its bowling and batting departments and they have progressed well in the tournament. The side doesn’t have too many stars in its ranks unlike some of the other teams but the skipper has marshalled his resources well so far and would look to repeat the same show in the next game. He would know that Derbyshire come into this game on tremendous form and shall want his boys to approach the game professionally.

The opening combination of Klinger and Miles Hammond has done well so far in the tournament and they would want to provide their side with a positive start. James Bracey, Ian Cockbain and Ryan Higgins form a formidable middle order for the side. In Jack Taylor and Graeme van Buuren they have good finishers towards the end of the innings. Bowling looks good for the side and the captain would be happy to see Andrew Tye get into good rhythm. David Payne and Graeme van Buuren will need to check the flow of runs as they have given away too many on occasions.

Derbyshire Falcons

Billy Godleman would be proud of the way his side has played so far in the tournament. They have made it to the quarter-finals pretty easily in the end winning their last three games after not having played well midway through the season. With their batsmen in good form and the bowlers also doing well in the last few games the skipper would be confident about the prospects of his side going into this game. Godleman would, however, know that Gloucestershire would be a tough opponent to beat and would want his players to bring out their best performance during the game.

Matthew Critchley shall have to provide a good start to the side as he hasn’t been in the best of form. His opening partner Godleman is doing good and so is Wayne Madsen at No. 3. The side has a good middle order with Leus du Plooy, Alex Hughes and Luis Reece and these players have done well in the season so far. With Fynn Hudson-Prentice in the lower-order, the side has a good finisher in him. Ravi Rampaul will have to lead the bowling attack and he has found a good rhythm in the last few games. Logan van Beek, Fynn Hudson-Prentice and Reece shall need to provide the perfect supporting act for the side to bowl well in the high-pressure contest.

Our Prediction for Gloucestershire vs Derbyshire Falcons

Gloucestershire would win this game

It is going to be a tough battle at County Ground, Bristol where Gloucestershire shall face Derbyshire Falcons in the 4th Quarter-Final of the Vitality T20 Blast. While the former finished second in the South Group points table the latter finished third in the North Group. Gloucestershire have played well throughout the season while Derbyshire came from behind to earn themselves a spot in the knockout stages. There would be pressure on both the teams and with quality players in both the sides we expect it to be a good game at Bristol.

Gloucestershire have more depth in their batting as well as bowling and this would make them favorites going into this game.
