France vs Netherlands: Predictions & Odds
Sunday, September 9, 2018, 14:15
Stade de France – Saint-Denis
France 2 – 1 Netherlands
Looking at the players in the Netherlands squad it is difficult to see how they are not competing with the best nations in the world – but the fact is that the Dutch have failed to qualify for the last two major tournaments and have looked a pale imitation of their golden generation best.
Ronald Koeman has overseen four fairly uninspiring friendly matches so far and knows that Nations League group fixtures against France and Germany will be a real test for his side. The home games will be all-important, as it seems unlikely that the Oranje will get anything in Paris or Gelsenkirchen.
France were crowned World Cup winners in Russia while looking like they could shift up another gear whenever needed. Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba will all expect to carry on where they left off in the summer and a home win here is very much expected. The French should run out comfortable 2-0 winners.
