Prediction Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Jamaica Tallawahs
Guyana Amazon Warriors will win this game
The remaining league games of the 2018 Caribbean Premier League remains of little interest in terms of selection for the play-offs are concerned. Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs have both made it to the play-offs and are tied at 10 points each with Warriors having played one fewer game. With the most important stage is about to start in the competition both the sides would expect to go into the play-offs with a win under their belt. It will be a game between two equally matched sides and the crowd at Guyana’s Providence Stadium can expect to see a great contest with power hitting from both the sides.
Guyana Amazon Warriors
Shoaib Malik had led the side inspiringly in the group stages but he will miss out on rest of the tournament having had to join his national side. Rayad Emrit lost his first game as captain against TKR. While Malik’s absence would be felt by the Warriors they remain a great side as they have shown so far in the tournament winning five out of their 8 games so far. Apart from the last game they lost against weaker St Lucia Stars and Barbados Tridents. Going into this game they would take heart from having humbled Jamaica Tallawahs in previous encounter little more than a week ago where they humbled Tallawahs by 71 runs.
Warriors’ batting is formidable with Shimron Hetmyer having a great season. There is little bit of worry with openers Chadwick Walton and Luke Ronchi who haven’t had the best of season. Jason Mohammad looked good in the last game. Cameron Delport is also one star to watch out for although he hasn’t had the best of seasons so far. It is however their bowling line-up that has been winning games from the side. Sohail Tanvir and Imran Tahir have shown great form this season as also has Veerasammy Permaul. Chris Green and skipper Emrit pack quite the needed punch to see the side through.
Andre Russell led Jamaica Tallawahs looked unbeatable at the start of the tournament winning their first three games convincingly. But this was followed by a hiccup where they lost their next three games and suddenly appeared to have lost the steam. But they came strongly to win the next two games before losing out to St Kitts and Nevis Patriots where their loss as much about bad performance as it was about rain affecting the game. Overall they have looked a good side with some star performers including their skipper who can win a game single-handedly in a matter of few overs.
Tallawahs are a great batting side and wicketkeeper Glenn Phillips has been in great form this season. Rovman Powell and David Miller strengthen the middle order and have been among the runs. What makes them a batting powerhouse is Andre Russell who has shown amazing power with the willow this season having already scored a ton. It is their bowling attack that has led them down in most of their losses as they tend to leak runs pretty easily. Imad Wasim is bowling well and Oshane Thomas is also looking good and if there is good performance from Krishmar Santokie the team would definitely count on its chances.
There is little to choose between the two sides has both of them have had great performances but Guyana Amazon Warriors are just nose ahead and are well set for a win.
