Chelsea are surprising many with their relentless displays but will be wary of a Palace side who look renewed under the oldest manager in the league and they know are capable of dealing some Stamford Bridge misery for the home side.
Only Manchester City and Leicester City have scored more goals than Chelsea in the Premier League this season. In fact, the Blues have not failed to score in the league since the opening day of the season. Palace have also managed to find the back of the net in three of their last four away games. To add further weight to this bet, four of the last five games between the two have also resulted in both teams scoring.
BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
Games between Chelsea and Crystal Palace have always been tight. In fact, four of the last five games have been settled by a single goal both at Stamford Bridge and Selhurst Park. The Blues have also won two of their last three games by a single goal although Palace have conceded two goals in their last three Premier League games in a row. That is why this bet offers surprisingly value with popular sportsbooks and one not to be missed.
CHELSEA TO WIN BY ONE GOAL
One thing that can be said about Frank Lampard’s new look Chelsea is that they don’t like to hang around. To prove this, Chelsea have scored in the first half in three of their last four Premier League games. To clarify this further, the Eagles have only score two goals in their last eight Premier League games highlighting the fact that Chelsea are likely to head into the break with at least a one goal lead.
CHELSEA TO WIN THE FIRST HALF
Head to Head
Chelsea understandably boast the stronger head to head record and did the double over the Eagles last season winning 3-1 at Stamford Bridge and then taking a 1-0 victory at Selhurst Park in December. However, Palace are no fools and beat Chelsea on their own patch in the Premier League as recently as April 2017 with a 2-1 win. Overall, Chelsea have won 27 times against Palace with the Eagles claiming 12 victories and a total of 15 draws.
Chelsea to win by a single goal
Chelsea have hardly set the world alight at home this season, but Crystal Palace have been just above average on the road and we don’t think that will be enough for the Eagles. Chelsea have impressed this season and are looking good with online betting sites to make it into the top four despite that summer transfer ban. Palace had a bright start but are winless in the league in their last three whilst Chelsea are on a five game Premier League unbeaten run. Also, five of the last six game shave been settled by just one goal.
